My wild experience

I was sitting up late the other night till about 4 am. When i decided to go to sleep.

So i rolled my self my before bed joint, i went outside and smoked, then i came back in and got in bed.

I was laying on my right side, and after about wat seemed like 5 mins my heart began to beat really fast, i got scared at first but then figured that it was normal. Next thing i noticed was that it felt like my right arm was falling asleep, like getting all tingly, then i started to get vibrations. They came and went, then came back even stronger. Then i felt waves over my body and i felt like i was awake in my empty head. Like i was concious in a head with no thoughts. Blackness i guess u could say. Then i woke up the next morning.

Was i close?

Wat did i do wrong to prevent myself from crossing over into the dream?

p.s. i really didnt have any HI

I’ve read other forum posters say that marijuana is not good for dreams.

Hey Dan

Id say you were pretty close. Thats what happens to me as I start to fall asleep, when its too strong of a feeling though I always fall out of the trance and am awake. Its hard to stay relaxed and let it go, and your mind races around and it feels like you are going up and down.

I used to pass out really quick after smoking a joint, but after years it doesnt do much now. Sometimes even keeps me up later, but I find I have more vivid dreams.

But good luck with WILD, its a tricky one sometimes!

You probably had dreams, weed just normally kills any and all recall (though not always, depends on the amount used and the kind of user you are). I wonder do you normally have lots of dreams and good recall since you seem to smoke often in the evening?

well thats the thing, i have been smoking for 3 years straight now, only missed one day.

I got into lucid dreaming last year

dont know if i would remember more or not if i didnt smoke, my guess is yea, i would remember 10 times more, and have many more lds.

to answer your question though, yes, i do still dream, but i can usually only remember one a night, if that

and ive only had 1 ld

Perhaps you should try to stop for a week or 2 and see if that brings you a larger amount of dreams and perhaps LD’s. It depends ofcourse on what you think is more inportant, if you can’t live without your evening smoke then by all means, dont stop . A friend of mine had this experience: he smoked a joint every evening, but he quit for a while when we went on a holliday (3 weeks). After a week or so he reported that he had an increased amount of dreams (better recall!) which were also much more vivid then usually.

yea, i have been thinking about quitting for a little while now

actually, im quitting now, today will be my first day with out smoking, then im gonna go for a month, no smoking

ill post my results as they come

hopefully i will become ld master

It decreases the REM sleep amount.

Isn’t there also a kind of REM rebound effect?

That’s right. As REM sleep is necessary, when you stop smoking for a few days, there is a rebound effect during nocturnal sleep. And if you really smoke a lot, lack of REM sleep makes that rebound effects can even occur during waking state. That’s why 40% of “big” smokers have experienced an OBE during waking state (it has happend to 2 of my friends) and it’s rather frightening for them… and people around them !

I only tell you, if you really want to ld please stop smoking gradually.

I’m glad I don’t smoke anymore, then. I’ve been into the LD scene for three months and haven’t smoked in about six…my brain is clear for takeoff into lucid dreamland! :content:
