well i have been working on this for about 2 months now, and for me it is completley succesful and has worked 25+ times.
please note i am a real light sleeper.
What i do is go to sleep as normal but tell myself before i fall under to wake up at a specific time, everytime i have done this i have woken up within 10 mins either way of that time. Once your “awake” use the normal WILD technique of telling yourself your are going to LD until you feel yourself falling asleep. You will about now feel yourself falling asleep, don’t get to excited if you feel “the vibrations” or see/feel yourself entering a dream a you will probably wake up. Once in a dream, at first, for maybe the first 5 dreams explore, this worked for me as a building block of most of my LDs as the familiarity was what i recognised in the dream and allowed me to fully enter the dream.
well thats it, please tell me if this works for you…or if it does’nt
Hey kid_A!
Yeah, I do somewhat the same thing, though I just say, I’ll wake after a dream or sometimes I don’t even use a mantra.
I wake up sometime in the middle of the night, sometimes at 1pm, sometimes at 5pm, well anyways, this is the time when I’ve gotten far with the WILD technique. I allmost succeeded but I got to excitet and woke up.
the other time when I got realy close was when I realized that I was dreaming, all out of nowhere. but then I got realy excitet and woke up, I couldn’t fall asleep for a while after that, even forgot the dream I was in
I’m going to try again tonight.
It seems as if my technique is allmost the same as yours though so I hope I’ll be able to do it as well as you can!
I’ll have to try this…seems promising!
yeah, i never thought of thinking that you have to wake up at a certain time. that seems like it would be much less disrupting than an alarm clock, especially if you have to reset the alarm clock for a later time. thanks for the tip. it should work out pretty well too because i have a pretty good sense of time like if somebody asks me in the middle of the day what time it is and i havent looked at a clock all day i’m usually within 10 minutes. also that thing where you wake up like 5 minutes before your alarm, happens to me all the time.
