Over the past few weeks i’ve made no attempt to try having a lucid dream, can someone help regain my intrest in it.
What usually helps me gain interest in something after a low motivation period, is simply rediscovering how awesome it is! You could try re-reading your own DJ, other people’s DJ or the “your favourite LD” topics. I see you have a long DJ topic here, have you had a lucid dream before? Can you remember what it felt like?
If it is a technique that has become boring or uninteresting, maybe you could try a different one? Visiting the #LD4all chat before sleep is also very motivating for me, because it makes me think of lucid dreaming as one of the last things before falling asleep.
Good luck, and sweet dreams!
Sometimes you just need a little break, but once you feel like you want to have LDs again, try to motivate yourself by imagining what you would do in your LD. Watch movies and imagine being in them, read someone else’s DJ, read your own DJ, read fantassy books, write a list of things you’d really like to do but you know are impossible… these are all things to get you motivated. If you feel like you just can’t get back in the mood, give yourself a little bit longer of a break. Once you’re ready, you’ll regain interest.
Since we are helping people I need help too. Recently I havn’t been modivated to write down my dreams in my dream journal, like thier not enough to bother with.
I can feel the same too at times Picknick, but those times are becoming very few and far apart, because I often regret every single dream I remember when I woke up, but lacked the patience and will to write down. Because dreams are the voice of our innermost self, and no matter how bland they seem, they’re always telling something of great importance to us.
Sometimes just writing them down can be enough to get the surface meaning, but if you want to really become a better person and look through the real deal, try interpreting them, you’ll discover many more things about yourself that will open up a new vision of you.
Not to mention you’re doing this for the lucids in the first place
Reading these baords help. Google is also your friend.
One of the most motivating reasons for me is that a lucid dream basically gives you more time to be productive in a way you wouldn’t normally be during waking life. I am determined to discover some practical benefit to lucid dreaming in my life. I figure if I invest enough effort for long enough, I might be able to solve problems or find inspired creativity consistently in my dreams.
In the past I would record my dreams on my iPhone, but I found that writing them down is actually more fun. For some reason it feels more mysterious
Hope that helps a bit!
