I’m considering starting up a new sleep schedule that will allow sleep of up to 2 hours whenever I’m very tired. What I want to know is, what is the best amount of sleep up to 2 hours for 1. Rest; and 2. Dream recall; in that priority.
I wouldn’t suggest sleeping for only 2 hrs at all.
I often find that if I have a nap that last only two hours I am more tired when I wake up then before I went to sleep and there is the chance that it will mess up your normal sleep schedule. I would suggest a minimum of four hours or not at all.
As far as dream recall goes though, I would suggest trying to get an extra hour or two after your normal sleep cycle if possible. For me I wake up after 30mins or so but with good clear recall because I am usually waking up right after the dream, take notes and fall back to sleep.
But only trying for two hours or so when you are very tired may do you more harm than good.
It wouldn’t be good to do that if someone wasn’t above the age of 18 years old. He might be doing the Uberman sleep cycle or some kind because they only require sleeping two hours and napping the rest.
Dude, you shouldn’t deprive yourself of precious sleep (or atleast more than 4hrs!). If you want to increase your dream recall than I suggest WBTB + keeping a constant dream journal. I does wonders! I kept my dream journal and after two weeks I could remember about 2 or three dreams per day! However I dont usually use WBTB. Remember you dont have to rob all of your sleep to get a good Lucid Dream!
