Im semi new to lucid dreams and have had very few short lived ones but one techquinque that i have been using is very helpfull. Wen you wake up and didnt have a ld you punch yourself in the shoulder/arm (enogh for it to hurt) and say to your self thats for not having a ld but when you do have a ld you give yourself a pat on the back. this is helpfull to me waht about anone else?
Yes, this might work.
i have also heard versions where you don’t eat chocolate until you get an ld or something like that-i’ve never heard any results back from those people so i don’t know if it works. Why don’t you try and let us know how it goes?
The tecnics are called PILD (Punishment Induced Lucid Dream) and RILD (Reward Induced Lucid Dream). I kinda teach your brain the same way u teach a dog (don’t hurt your dog by the way)
) Yes, this is the good old Pavlov technique of conditioning, never tried it but maybe it works? But I’m afraid I’ll need more than punching myself in the shoulder, maybe a real cold shower (horror ) will help.
I’ve heard that puting a 9V battery to your toung is a good way (never tried that). If you take a cold shower, you need to get out of bed and stuff, so you have to be fast so you know that your intention of the cold shower is the non-lucid sleep or it migth not have any effect.
The battery is a good one, maybe I’ll try that
Hmmm, cold shower is such horror for me that I would thinking a lot about it during the night and it will sink in my subconscious. Fear is our most basic instinct (besides sex of course). On the other hand, maybe I won’t sleep anymore because of the horrible toughts about cold water .
I could also buy the Eurovision Song Contest official CD and everytime I wake up in the morning and notice that I didn’t have an LD I will punish myself by listening to all those horrible songs
Any other sadistic ideas ?
What about drinking some nasty protein drink
Hello all. I’d like to introduce a super-special-secret method…
that’ll give even the virgin lucid-dreamer their first lucid dream.
This is how I had my first lucid dream, and I know that if I ever hit
a dry spot, this ALWAYS bails me out, without a doubt. -and you all
know the momentum/enthusiasm you gain after a lucid dream.
It’s quite simple. My 8 easy (and ridiculously over-elaborated) steps.
I went into so much detail cause this works best, and you can never
go overboard when trying to induce lucidity:
-
Go to a pub and have at least 4-6 drinks. Enough so that you’re pretty
drunk, but NOT going to throw up. Preferably have your alcohol with
Coke cause its loaded with sugar and caffeine. If you get so
inebriated that you’re going to pass out or throw up, this method
WILL NOT work. so don’t do it okay? Make sure you do plenty of
reality checks while you’re at the pub/bar. This even works if you
have never done reality checks before. Just make sure, (using
several methods to verify), that you AREN’T dreaming, FOR SURE.
That means spending a good 30 seconds reality checking each time.
Your dreams tonight will be centred around what you were thinking
of while you were getting drunk, cause they are usually very
emotional (rowdy) times. Think what you will do when you get lucid
later on. the alcohol will give you some hectic REM rebound. -
So you’ve been up till about 2:00am and you’re pretty drunk.
Eat and drink LOTS. Your meal should be a HIGH PROTEIN one.
Protein kicks your brain into overdrive, so you’ll have more intense
dreams. The water, well, that’s to rehydrate you, stupid. -
Now go to sleep… do affirmations that you’ll have a lucid dream
later that morning, until you fall asleep…
(you must believe you will… cause… believe me, YOU WILL!!)
Set your alarm clock to wake you in 6 hours from now.
(you’ll be using the napping method) -
6 hours later, wake up, write down ANY dreams you remember,
even if you can only remember a single line, like:
“talking with friends at pub”.
Try and relive the dream in your mind. get out of bed!!! NB!!!
Again, affirm that you will have a lucid dream just now and
DO REALITY CHECKS!!! -
Have another HIGH-PROTEIN MEAL. wash it down with something
like energade. (loads of sugar.) the sugar acts like fuel to break
down the protein. (drinking some coffee at this stage is optional,
depending whether or not you think you’ll be able to get back to
sleep after the hour is up.) -
After being awake for 45-60 minutes, get back into bed and
do affirmations. (if you can go into trance at this stage, even
better). do one last reality check, and continue with affirmations
until you fall asleep. Make sure you have at LEAST two more hours
of uninterrupted sleep before you have to wake up again. -
Sleep… sleep… sleep… if you wake up, just roll over and
go back to sleep again. Just KEEP SLEEPING. if you’re disturbed,
try to fall asleep again. The harder it is to fall asleep, the more
awake your brain is, and the more likely you will become lucid.
MAKE SURE TO WRITE DOWN ANY DREAMS YOU HAVE BETWEEN
WAKING UP AND GOING BACK TO SLEEP!!!
8 ) Sooner or later that morning, you WILL become lucid. when you
wake up from your lucid dream, keep still, close your eyes and
without thinking, try and remain aware, and about 50% chance you
will have a WILD. and lets admit, that’s what we all really want, right?
don’t forget to write down your lucid dream after you have it,
cause you CAN forget them, and that would be just silly.
SO, that’s it. When any of you get lucid using it, please drop me an
email telling me so. I’ve spent many nights road-testing this technique
and any good feedback is great. If you like it, and really want, you
can even send me a small donation of $20. It will go towards future
improvements.
NOTE: don’t use this method TOO often, have some respect for your
body, and maybe even take a liver tonic before using it.
LIABILITY:
I cannot not be held responsible for irresponsible imbeciles driving
drunk. this technique says nothing about drunk driving, so
don’t blame me. if you do drive drunk, you’re an idiot and
deserve to die.
uhm, people probably read my previous post and thought:
“hhmmm… sounds like a load of crap”
believe me, its the ALCOHOL!!! that is the secret ingredient.
however, you need to put the idea of lucid dreaming into your mind
enough for you to think about it, just once that night. so do the
entire procedure, cause i don’t wanna hear that it doesn’t work if you
leave something out.
ALSO: two questions. why the hell am i a ‘sleepwalker?’
what is it supposed to mean? what is it based on?
and where is the little picture i chose?
Im particularly distressed about the disapearance of my little picture.
That sleepwalker thing… It’s your “level” on this forum, and it depends on how many postings you have on this forum.
My first lucid dream was achieved in a similar fashion… in fact, what makes this technique so great is that it fits so well into many modern 20-somethings lifestyle:
Go out Friday, get sociably drunk with friends, sleep in on saturday and have a lucid dream. Superb!
Hmm… what to call it though… ABILD (Alchoholic Beverage Induced Lucid Dream)?
Great point about the types of food to eat too. I’m definately going to try this.
im not that old
Have to mention this: I had my first LD spontaneous after a beer drinking session with my friends.
