NEW music (NEW good music)

After the sad death of John Peel, the BBC’s legendary DJ who broke new bands on his show for generations, I suddenly became aware I’ve got a little out of touch (to say the least) with current and new quality music.

I’ve been re-living the spirit of discovering new bands by first listening to old recordings of John Peels show https://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/alt/johnpeel/index.shtml and then following various fan links to great new music resources.

This Thread is devoted to new quaility unsigned, small label or underground acts.

If you don’t know any here are a few sites where you can listen/download new music. Many of the sites can be searched by genera so you can pick your flavour of music and choos an unknown face to listen to by random like I’ve been doing all day.

A good place to check out unsigned bands is:

German funkrock. You’ll miss half the fun if you don’t get the lyrics, but the other half is still worth listening (or better: dancing) to:

Hey tapir, this is some good stuff! can you show me some more bands like this? what is this bands name? do you have anything like this that is instrumental with no singing? It’s really cool. have you heard of the band Die sterne? they are good.

Here you can download another song, it’s from their webpage:
sixieundfuchs.de/musik/sixie … elgood.mp3

Their name is “Sixie und Fuchs”, but sadly I can’t recommend anything else like this at the moment. There is one a bit similiar band, I let you know when I remember the name, but Sixie und Fuchs are really quite unique.

Would be cool if you sign their guestbook, I know them and they’d be pretty surprised to have some international fans
Go to www.sixieundfuchs.de , click on the sunglasses, then in the new window there are some new symbols. The fourth from left is a megaphone, click this one. Then on the little + with the text “Neuer Eintrag”. Thats the guestbook
