New, yes. But had a Lucid dream long ago...

Well. Anyway, I had a very screwed up dream when the Pokémon Red/Blue fad was out, and all these rumors about Mew emerged. I have no idea what happened, but I remember a LD about this.

I’m walking in the forest, right? And this giant Mew is pregnant or something, and I’m walking with it [More like a her; pregnancy], and I find some weird, dead other Mew corpse. I keep asking the pregnant Mew questions, then everything disappears, and I’m just stuck in the forest reading comic books.

All I had to say in the morning was, WTF?

I’m not sure if that was a lucid dream or not…
What made you realize that you were dreaming? By definition, a LD is just a dream where you actually realize you’re dreaming. Lots of people have them, not so many realize the potential for them. That is a very messed up dream though, but most dreams are… (for me anyway)

Enough of that… welcome to LD4ALL!
Read about lucid dreaming, get fired up about it, and then go have a couple!

You might not actually remember that part, if it ever existed. It might be a lucid dream anyway, though.

I know, but he never even mentioned knowing it was a dream.

I actually did realize I was dreaming, looking around and seeing some stuff that was non-existant in Reality. I didn’t really care about that, and explored a bit. Then I came across this.

This was years ago, and I may have a fuzzy memory. I did know I was dreaming. It was fun! I could do whatever I wanted until I woke up, as if flying was normal.

But this is my only one. I want to have more LD’s. Any tips? I’ve tried a DJ, and it seems my dream recall is getting better… but no LD’s. What’s the easiest method? Thanks kindly.

Do lots of RC’s regularly, especially in odd situations or when something reminds you of a dream. The easiest method to start out with is probably MILD when you combine it with WBTB. You’ll find some big topics about both of those pretty easily I think. Also, it might not be a bad idea to look into WILD. Some can do it, and some just can’t, but if you’ve got that natural ability then you’re in a lot of luck. I heard somewhere that people who fall asleep faster generally have a better chance of doing WILD. And as far as tips go all I can say is: you have to want it! Now you might be thinking that all this is coming from a guy who has only had one LD, but I had that the night that I wanted it the most and actually had some good motivation. It was also the first night I used WBTB, so seriously consider that too. Keep your DJ religiously; you’ll notice that whenever you start slacking off on it your recall of dreams will go down too. Hope that helps…

Ah, thank ye kindly. One last question on RC’s. Where and when is the best place/time to do so? Last night, before I went to bed, I asked myself, “What was the last thing I did?” And that didn’t help much. Well, it was only my first night to actually attempt a lucid dream… but still! So… when and where is the best time/place for a RC?

And the phrase before you sleep; “I will dream. I will remember my dream. I will be aware I am dreaming.”

How do I go about saying that? Out loud? In my mind; my thoughts? Or do I just somewhat think deeply about it and let it sink into my mind, closing off all other thoughts?

Anytime and anywhere… seriously, whenever you think about it, just do it. If you don’t, then you might pass it up in a dream. If you ever actually find yourself wondering if you’re dreaming then you probably are, but when you do a RC you want to pretend like you don’t know you’re awake. When you get some more entries in your DJ, you’ll notice that certain things come up a lot more than others. So do a RC anytime you’re reminded of something you see in your dreams a lot. Also, the RC you did of asking yourself how you got there only works sometimes. Other times, if you really are dreaming, your mind might make up false memories to answer the question. It’s a good idea to keep doing that, but find another RC to do as well.

Oh, sorry… I didn’t answer your other question. You want to say it in your mind, though saying it out loud a couple times first will definately help. Ideally you want this to be the only thought you have before falling asleep, but only experienced meditators will really be able to do that. Just bring your attention back to that phrase whenever your mind wanders. In my experience I have to stop after a while because it gives me insomnia if I do it for too long, but everybody’s different.
