Newbie Question

Hello all, new member here.

I was pretty excited when I found this site. I have actually had LDs before, but they were accident, and after reading some things here, they were really minor LDs.

I am going to try working on LDs right away… I have a question though. When I was reading the intro, the “old hag syndrome” caught my eye. I think this has occasionally happened to me, but I counted it as a nightmare, and fixed the problem by just getting up, drinking water etc.

Have any of you had a problem with this, or was it a little hyped up? And if you did have a problem, talk about it, and about ways in which you defeated it.

This just sticks out as a little ominous to me as a newbie, and I would like some info. Thanks.

In my opinion this is pretty hyped up. First of all it only happens when you do WILD because, you are going to sleep and keeping your mind slightly awake. When you do this you might experience some strange things before you crossover into the dream state. Some can be scary but, they are not real and can not harm you. Once you understand that the WILD experience can be quite enjoyable. However, if these things scare you then use one or the other methods.

BTW- Welcome to the forum and happy dreaming

This is very hyped up. I never had such a problem for instance. It happend to a friend of mine. The best to do is to consider it’s just a dream and don’t fear. Generally speaking, when you don’t fear, these nightmares disappear very quickly, sometimes immediatly.

I’m slightly scared of it, but I won’t let that discourage me  Never experienced it though.
