There has been far to much of this lately and when ever I read or hear about people wanting to leave I get very sad. Especially since the is no reason for it. Most threaten to leave because of silly arguments that, in the end, are forgotten as quickly as they started.
This forum is comprised of people of varying ages from across the globe. We all have differing religious beliefs, political theories, and philosophical ideas. From time to time our differences may clash but that is not a reason to leave. Indeed it is a reason to stay! It is our differences that make us all special and inspire great debates. In the end, no matter how heated the debate gets, we are all still friends and that’s what makes this forum so special. We don’t brand people here so there is no reason to feel that you must leave out of anger, guilt, shame or (pick your emotion). This forum is called ld4all and that is a very important thing to remember.
The next time someone feels that they have to leave the forum I suggest you do the following:
- Take a brake from the debate or topic for a day.
- Take some time and sleep on your decision to leave.
- (optional) PM a mod (or someone else you trust)and seek advice
I’ll bet that 9 times out of 10 you will feel differently about your decision to leave. After all most people who threaten to leave either don’t or come back after a short time.
Also keep in mind that you are a member of this forum because you enjoy it so, by leaving (or threatening to) you harm only yourself. Does that make any sense ?
Above all else remember jeff’s # one rule: “be excellent to each other”.
Good luck all and happy dreaming.
