Has anyone ever had a dream that seems like a nightmare but for some reason you don’t feel scared? I remember one time I had a dream that Jason Vorhees was chasing me at the mall but for some reason I didn’t feel scared in the dream infact it seemed kinda fun
I often have dreams like that. It can be monsters, zombies, it can even be flesh-eating flowers (now that was a wierd dream I had ) but I haven’t got scared for a while in my dreams. Wonder why
Most of my nightmares aren’t scary as they should be =/ They were much scarier for about 10 years ago. (I was afraid to fall asleep everytime I’ve had a nightmare, then.)
I’ve had dreams from having those ghosts in Super Mario chasing after me, to bus-accidents. And when I wake up, I laugh. I miss the fear a little bit
That generally the rule for me. I dream stuff that could be scary, but I don’t feel the fear. Ofcourse there are exceptions, but I am alot braver in dreams. And ofcourse then it is fun.
I had a dream I was watching tv and I was a crippled girl getting into a car that was flying over a cliff but it was on tv in my dream so it didn’t get to me.
I had another one after that that my dad was watching a movie about zombies and me and him went into the movie and I had the time of my in that dirty dark zombie filled basement till I woke up.
if its not scary isnt it not a nightmare?
o_o exactly… I mean, I’ve had some gore and killing and monsters in dreams, but I wasn’t scared, so they weren’t nightmares. It isn’t the subject that makes the nightmare, it’s the feeling
It’s weird, and I just now realized, I haven’t had a nightmare in years. I think it’s been 4 years now (the last one simply had a scary twist at the end, so I just awoke from the shock.) Think this is normal? I suppose it is a good thing, but I don’t have any theories on nightmares yet.
I’m pretty sure I have had some before but just can’t remember them. They’re pretty fun too!
I knew there was already a similar topic merged into existing topic
Last night when I was staying at a friend’s house I had a strange ND (mine are usually strange anyway). I dreamt that I woke up from the bed I was sleeping in (in real life) and went out to the living room. I looked at the clock, it was a normal analog wall clock even though I know my friend has a fancy looking Cuckoo Clock. (I guess I could have triggered an LD there but I forgot to) Then he woke up. We heard a noise coming from outside and his mum woke up too. Somehow I found out that his mum had a really aggressive and violent stalker that wanted to kill her and anyone who got in his way, I wasn’t told this I just knew somehow (dream memories perhaps?). My suspicions were proven right when we looked outside and saw a guy with a gun coming up the front stairs. For some reason I wasn’t scared, the dream didn’t at any point feel like a nightmare. He couldn’t get through the front door so he went around to the back one, but before he got there we locked and bolted the door. This was frustrating because the lock was kinda broken but we got it in eventually. He came up the back and tried to get through but didn’t succeed, I don’t know why he didnt use his gun. After that my recall is really fragmented but in the end he was taken away by the police. When I was talking to the police they told me more about the stalker. Apparently he had killed several women he was going out with before and my friend’s mum was supposed to be next because they were going out for a few weeks. This kinda made sense because his mum is single in real life. I also was told that he was a bit of a celebrity because he used to be a famous sport star. I think he played NRL for some time but his career ended somehow. I woke up after this.
If anyone else has had a dream where they should have been scared but weren’t or you just want to comment on mine feel free to do so.
Sometimes I have dreams where I’m afraid then, but when I wake up I’m like, “Why the heck was I scared???”
about only 5 hours ago I took a nap and you know how they say that you are truly afraid of the most rediculous things in nightmares. I was running from a small bald fat midget, about .5 ft high, and it was wearing a cape. When I woke up I was just thinking “what the heck was that!”
This has happened to me, I believe, but I can’t think of an example at the moment…
I have some sort of conflict in most of my dreams, but I hardly ever consider them nightmares. Even if I’m scared at one point, something usually happens to let me escape safely or the situation is resolved.
I can only remember three specific dreams in my life which I consider nightmares - and two of them were extremely mundane situations which weren’t “scary” - but they made me feel abandoned and unloved. I think it is worse to be utterly unloved than to be chased by monsters. What frightened me was that they might be true.
Yeah, I’ve had dreams where I was scared in the dream but then woke up and said to myself, “Why did that scare me?” It’s usually the most ridiculous things.
