Not trying to maintan lucidity :(

Hey,

I have a small problem. I’ve noticed that lately I have some pretty frequent lucid dreams, but I remember that in those dreams I immediately ran and went to try one of my goals, which most of the time puts me out of lucidity.

I am pretty sure, or actually, 100% sure that I do it because I don’t want to have ended a LD doing nothing. Because it’s really hard for me to get one, I was just having some lucky weeks I guess.

My question is basically, should I always try to immediately stay calm when I become Lucid and, for example, rub my hands, BEFORE trying anything? Is there a high chance I’ll remain in the LD? So I can still do whatever I want to do?

I do the same thing. I’m trying to make one of my goals to stop and think (but not too long) and reorient my thought pattern before going to do something so I don’t just continue in the dream like I normally do. I really haven’t remembered to do so much yet though.

Definitely yes, to first of all stop and think about the dream, my goals and to stabilize the dream has been very helpful for me.

Im…not sure what to say about this one. Honestly, usually I at least have a thought on it, but I’m a bit stumped by this. I always remain calm when begin a lucid dream, then try out what I want to test in the position I remain in.

I usually never try and control where I go in a lucid dream, but then again I haven’t had them frequently enough to alter where exactly I go. I usually seem complacent with where I’m put :eh: Such as, if I find a field, I think “Oh would you look at that…this is a good place to practice flying!”, or “Oh look a door! Fantastic, I can practice my psychokinesis!” and have a laugh slamming shut a door right before a DC walks through. Fun times. Other than that though, I don’t really control where it is I go to test things. This could be why your having your issue, your trying to control too many things, or have something very specific near you for your trials.

I would say simply remain nonchalant and go with the dream itself. Practice controlling smaller things before you go altering big ones, this might help stabilize the dream. Learn better control and focus, that would probably help tons.

Maybe you could find your dream guide to help you find your control. That should make for good adventure :content:
