Hi, I’m new to these forums and had a question about lucid dreaming. I had a dream last night where I knew that I was lucid. I was standing in front of my house and stuff started to get blurry so i spun around a few times and everything got very vivid and clear, kind of like a mushroom trip. Well I walked inside my house and there was a dream character in there whose face was painted white. I tried to talk to him but I could not speak does this ever happen to anyone? Right after I tried to talk I woke up. Sorry if this is the wrong forum I was just wondering if anyone else has problems speaking in a lucid dream?
I haven’t had this problem. And, chances are, you won’t again.
Remember, dreams vary. They are different. Experinced LD’ers who have flown right out into space in one dream, may only be able to fly a few feet into the air in another.
The trick I guess, I to just assume you can do it in every dream.
Yes, this happens to me all the time! Sometimes when a discussion in a dream is getting heated, and I am raising my voice, it starts to fail. The more I try to speak loud, the lower I actually will speak. It feels like a cramp in my throat.
If its a lucid dream, it could help to communicate in an other way. Maybe telepathy would work? Sometimes when I talk to foreign people in dreams, we don’t actually say anything out loud.
It is your dream, and you can do what you want.
hmm… i read that this problem has to do with the fact that you are just barely sleeping/dreaming, so that you try to really speak which you can’t because of SP…
This once happened to me in an LD. In most of my LD’s, i dont see dream characters, and one of my main goals in LD is to question my subconscious, so you can imagine my surprise when i saw some DC’s in a recent LD…i was so excited that i think i probably partially woke up, cuz i couldnt talk after one sentence, and eventually did wake up. One thing you might wanna do, if you cant talk, is try out telepathy…ive never tried it but it seems a good idea to try out / practice.
In my 2nd LD, my speech was slurred. But after a quick burst of “Increase speech NOW!” it returned to normal.
