Omg Sooooo Confusing

I dont get it How does meditating get u to know ur inner soul or self. I mean all u do in meditation is just sit still mindlessly without thoughts. How is not doing anything going to get u to know ur innte soul ??!?

ok lets just put it this way. say your inner toughts and stuff are a nut then meditation would be like a nutcracker to break open the hard shell of your mind letting you gain the thoughts of your inner soul. comprende?

Now I understand 264-6011 lol

glad to have helped

thoughts are meaningless distractions.

you are born into this world without them and you leave this world without them.

the you that you know right now is only temporary and WILL die, if you are completely attached to this self you will not achieve liberation and will constantly be born, die, etc.

the “soul” is something that is completely transpersonal and lies beyond any concept of solid self, it is a source which binds ALL beings together and is not independent of your own body.

i.e. we do not each have different souls, we all have the same “soul”

think of it like a river… you come along, you take a cup and scoop up some water, and then you sit on the ground for a long time. Well you are the contents of that cup, and you are that cup, but you and everyone else come from the river. and to the river you return. To focus soley on the cup with its individual perceptions of its own indivdual reality is to be bound to a sense of self that is not permanent and will die.

to meditate and free yourself of normal conscious thinking you get to go back into the river and swim all the way to the ocean [liberation] if you want to, and in doing so you become one with your truer nature.

you do not have to believe in birth or rebirth to get what i’m saying, i’m just using language here and its going to be obviously biased and inaccurate, just look at the metaphors, look at what is beneath the language i’m using and take whatever you understand from it and put it into your own language if need be.

the only important message to take is that the thinking self is not the true self and meditation takes you back to the source of all consciousness and all life, and removes any sense of separation and indivdiuality you have.

presumably, i really think it does but i have not experienced directly.
