OMG...What an experience!

Its currently 2.30am here and usually I would still be sleeping at the moment but my FIRST LD (YAY!! :cool_laugh: ) has made me want to get on these forums just to post what I just experienced and because if I go back to bed, i’ll probably forget it all.

Just to let you know, last night I went out with a few friends to a local club and I’d had 4 drinks so I had a feeling that the alcohol might just have that good old effect of making my dreams rather vivid. Which it did.

It started out as a ND and I remember being outside somewhere when all of the sudden I realised I was dreaming. When I read about people’s LDs and they say that they suddenly realised they were dreaming, I never really understood how you could just simply realise without seeing a DS or something. But now I know because it’s exactly what happened to me, one second I was in a ND and the next thing I remember is me saying to myself “OMG, I’m Dreaming!” and this wave of energy rushed throughout my body and I was aware of my surroundings.

The LD is abit of a blurr for me (probably because it’s my first one) but I’ll mention the things I still remember. The first thing I remember trying when I realised I was lucid was of course, flying. It was such a rush, simply jumping off the ground made me float in the air and then using “energy” to propel me up, into the sky. I was jumping from rooftop to rooftop then flying up into some mountains and it was the most realistic feeling I’ve ever had in a dream before. After flying around for abit I remember flying directly towards the ground and I started to go through the ground. I decide to turn back around and fly upwards again but when I do is when things start to get weird.

I was flying directly upwards out of the ground yet I couldn’t seem to fly out of the ground. As I continued to fly upwards the dream started to fade and everything suddenly went black. After about a minute of this blackness I somehow remembered that I could create a new dream scene and it’s exactly what I did. It was the weirdest feeling ever, as I was thinking really hard about a new dream scene I started to see colours appear and then BAM, this whole new scene created itself around me and I got the rush feeling in my body again. I remember being inside a house at one point and I walked through the wall to go outside and it was dark outside, so I decided to see if I could change that. I went inside again and thought really hard about making it daytime outside as I walked through the wall. It took me two attempts of this before it actually became sunny outside and the blue sky looked so magnificent.

I remember exactly when the lucidity started to fade, but it faded into a ND in the weirdest way. I was on the side of a road with my brother and dad and I was telling them how lucid I was when they both started talking to me as if I was a couple of metres away in a different body. I was also doing really weird things according to them but I couldn’t see this ‘body’ of myself that they were talking to. My lucidity was pretty much gone after abit of this confusing different body stuff with my bro and dad and I slipped back into an extremely vivid ND.

I’ve spent atleast the last 3-4 months reading about Lucid dreaming, Astral Projection, OOBEs etc, and only now have I had such a profound experience. The feeling of becoming lucid in a dream is such a wicked feeling, one that you have to experience to understand. It’s just so sudden too, one second your in the front row viewing your dream like a movie, then in an instant you “become” the movie. Overall my lucidity during the dream was quite high considering this was my first time and I stayed lucid for quite awhile, just sucks that I can’t remember it all

Anyway, back to bed and hopefully more LD’s! :cool_laugh:

hey empty spaces, welcome(oh, right, you’‘ve been here for 3-4 months  ,
congrats on your first LD, i hope you’'ll have many more, but, 5 posts in 3-4 months?

WELCOME !

Don`t be shy … !

lol, petter, he’'s been here since august:P

Wow, that was really intense for a novice! Congratulations, empty_spaces. My first ones (after a few years of no LDs) were quite insignificant compared to that one. That will hopefully give you all the confidence you need for successful inductions in the future!

haha yea 5 posts is pretty lame but it’s only because I haven’t had an LD until now so I didn’t really have much to post about before, now I will plenty more to post about :cool_laugh:

Hi empty_spaces! I’m very happy that you had such a rewarding experience and you described it very well! It was a wonderful first LD! Congrats! :cool_laugh:
I hope you’ll have plenty of awesome LD’s now! Next time, you should stare from times to times at your hands to make your LD last longer. It strenghtens your lucidity and you don’t come back into a ND (at least, you don’t come back very quickly). You manage it very well when you were into the “black void”. Another possibility is rubbing your hands to make the background reappear.
