So last night I tried my first attempt at WILD, and at one point, Brightly colored blob-like things began to fly through my vision. I tried to ‘‘zoom’’ into the blobs, immediately i felt a light buzzing sensation in my head, and my heartbeat picked up, unfortunately I guess i got too excited and lost it.
Is this what a successful WILD feels like? Or was it just my imagination?
Also, some general questions,
I sleep with a light fan on, but it doesn’t bother me at ALL, my question is, does this fan effect my ability to get an LD? Does it have to be completely silent?
Is it possible to get an LD with just one technique? Such as WILD or MILD? I cannot do a technique that involves waking up then going back to sleep though(WBTB)(Long story) So secondly, do I have to do WBTB or something similar to get an LD?
Thanks for answering my questions,
Dont worry, I wont get sick
Oh ya,
Do you automatically appear a lucid dream? Or do you have to do an RC?
Do you open your eyes when you do an RC?
When is a good time to do an RC? During the ‘‘buzzing’’ sensation? Or something else?
Last question
Is a lucid dream really as vivid as people say they are? Like…to the point where everything looks real? Cuz that sounds reeeaaaaalllllllyyyyyyy coool, Im used to over-pixelated, third-person view dreams Is an LD in first-person?
Most of my dreams are in first-person. Sometimes it’s like being a camera flying around and recording the dream.
So far all my LDs have been strictly first-person though and I aim to keep them this way.
That’s another thing, you can’t just say all LD’s are in first-person, it’s different for everyone.
NO! You mustn’t do a RC while you are still awake. You will never fall asleep that way.
You do that while you ae in a dream.
2.Now that you know you have to do RCs during the dream, it should be clear to you that your eyes should be open.
3.Lucid dreams are USUALLY more vivid than normal dreams. Some people say that their LDs are more vivid than real life.About the 1st and 3rd person thing, if your dreams are normally 1st person, your LDs will be 1st person too, and vice versa.
It’s a little strange to me.
When I’m awake, I ALWAYS know I am awake, and I’m not dreaming.Always.
Well, when you fall asleep you you find yourself in an impossible dreamscape, or anywhere else than your bed, then you will remember to do an RC(If you did them during the day)
Do not do them while you are seeing hypnagogic images, or while you are breathing in and out, or whatever else you are doing.
I believe what you described are typically things that mean you’re very close to getting a WILD. Just try to relax. LD’s don’t go well with excitement. Too much excitement will wake you up. Some of what you described (like flashes of white) are called “memory impressions”. This is basically your mind formulating the dream. You may see - for instance - a colour. Maybe a couple of colours. Those colours may mix into a picture and you’ll maybe hear a sound or two. Just be patient and you’ll find your dream body appear.
Often, in a WILD, you’ll find that if you relax long enough you’ll enter sleep paralysis. This is another typical sign of being close to success (that I have anyways). If you wait long enough while attempting to WILD, you’ll find yourself entering the dream fully lucid in almost no time. This is the time to do an RC.
If you focus too much, you’ll see the hypnagogic imagery disappear. If you don’t focus enough, you’ll find yourself drifting off too much and have a regular dream. If you really need more help about this, there is a YouTube series called “Lucidology 101”. It may help to look at some of those videos. The person in the videos will probably answer a lot of your questions. He talks about OBE’s here, but they are essentially the same as lucid dreams. Lucid dreams are alot more fun to explore, though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZgJOMqIhvHM&feature=PlayList&p=E3E88DE0B45599E3&index=0&playnext=1
