Once your lucid, does your POV go into 1st person?

Does it go into 1st person, or does it still randomly jump around? Or does it matter what POV you had prior to being aware of your dream?

I’ve always been almost a laggy online FPS game POV. It’s like first person with some third person jumps.

I’m always strictly 1st person.

Whats? POV?

I think POV means Point of View.

For me it’s usually 1st person but switches to 3rd person when something cool happens like an exposion scene or something like that.

For me, the POV usually stays the same. Unless the dream doesn’t like me doing something, in which case it’ll automatically kick me out to 3rd person. This used to happen when I walked on the ceiling or spun. It doesn’t anymore.

I’ve got a quetion! can you change your point of view mid dream. I think that would be cool

Yes, you can change your point of view when I become a animal or something like that i can change to 3rd person to see its pretty cool but i dont think i do it. Its more of my subconsious

Mine changed to 1st, probably because I have alot of dreams in third.

I always see everything in 1st, but in my previous LD I saw me for a bit in 3rd and I was a dolphin!

Almost all of my dreams are in 1st person. Lucid dreaming makes it even more secure, and I feel as though I’m in reality, although I know its a dream. As good as real I would say.

Similar to Wyvern, my dream would shift to 3rd person for a moment if a very big event happened, like an explosion, or a plane crash. However, I would not be able to see myself while in 3rd person, cos I would be in the event (like I would be in the explosion).

I think I remember in third but dream in first (mostly). It is strange though. Sometimes I only know I was lucid or dreaming 1st person because during the dream I tell myself this so that when i wake up and it all gets ultimately vague, I remember I was LDing in 1st person.

In high control LD’s this isn’t a problem, but those are rare

Ahh, that’s why I suddenly noticed I was 3rd person when I tried flying close to the ground while spinning… Cool! Next time, I’ll try to force myself into 1st person again.

My dreams (lucid and normal) are always in first person and in color unless I choose for them to be otherwise

My 3rd person dreams are my vaguest and most fragmented. Since my recall got solid, I really don’t have them anymore. A shame, it could be a good dream sign, unless of course you just think of it as a computer game.

99% of my dreams are in first person. I can recall a few dreams that were in third person and all my lucid ones have so far been 1st person.

I had two or three times while losing lucidicy and flying at same time. Everything was looking ugly simple. Maybe if i got lucid while having 3-rd person view dream i’d have a “POV jump” but i - really - dont think so.

I HATE DREAMS LIKE THAT ! Whatever is gonna happen im not suprised , no one RC, no chanses of getting lucid. Even if i died in it im still thinking “damnit , i totally fuc*ed it up, i need to try again”.

Dreams when im suddenly discovering that it’s not a game are much worse.

sb:“Dammit, that 5-headed, 53-eyed monster and his evil army of zombies are getting more powerful , and we are out of ammo! WE ALL ARE DOOM’D !! WE ARE GONNA DIE”
I:“SHUT UP, i’ll just load last savepoint and… wait, where is keyboard ?”
sb:“OH NO, THEY ACTUALLY ATE YOUR BRAIN !!! IM DOOMED !!”
I: … really , shut up

I rarely have third person view dreams. I think if I was lucid I would know that third person was wrong and change it to the natural first person view.

what different views could we will upon ourselves?
like 360 views or even like a sphere looking out. i dont think we have the brain power for that though

yeah… i think my dreams are usualy 1st person.
i think ive had some 3rds, but not in my small amount of (crap) lucids

I think there was someone here who claimed to have achieved 360 degree vision in an LD a while back, maybe Pedro?

In my first LD ever, my viewpoint actually switched from first-person to third-person perspective when I became lucid. Ever since then, my viewpoint has always been first-person when I became lucid and remained that way through the rest of the dream.

I found a topic related to this subject in the archive: Third person perspective in LDs. I thought there was another similar topic that had some good advice, but I couldn’t find it.

Edit: I found two more topics on the subject, but not the one I was looking for.
Strange 3rd person LD
Body? What body? I’m just a pair of floating eyes

Edit2: I found an entry in Pedro’s dream diary where he apparently experienced 360 degree vision. Scroll down to the first post from November 5th. This topic also has some discussion on 4D vision:
A question for Pedro/Gods and dreams
