This might be a silly question but why does oversleeping sometimes hurt? When I don’t want to get up for the day and go back to sleep for a while, I find myself getting sharp pains or headaches. Why is this?
You’re forcing your body to do something it doesn’t want/need to do.
Oversleeping is unhealthy, this I guess is a side effect of it. I also find that if I over sleep I am more tired through out the day than if I don’t over sleep.
Oversleeping is unhealthy for your body. For the headaches/pain you get could be caused by something else. Whenever I oversleep I don’t feel bad, just feel tired but I’m not really.
the longer you sleep the more frequent REM periods get. Because REM sleep is tiring, too much of it will make you mentally exhausted. Perhaps it can cause headaches too. It could also be dehydration.
i definitely get headaches when i’ve over slept.
i mostly get head aches and pains when i under sleep, its because i dont get enough sleep. if i do over sleep im very grouchy getting ready for school, but during the school day i have lots of energy. Enough to actuly raise my hand
I was wondering the same thing cuz I was trying to sleep more and then I ended up with a HUGE headache… I tried to avoid it by staying awake longer when I wake up in between sleep periods in the middle of the night, that way I don’t have too much sleep, and I still get enough dream time. It seems to work for me…
It can sometimes be difficult to attain the correct hours of sleep a night if someone has an odd schedule. Having too little or too much sleep is bad, but in my opinion, to much is worse. It’s so agonizing, dragging your body around while your mind is screaming, “What!? I got twelve hours of sleep last night! What’s with the jet lag!?”

I woke up Saturday around 10 AM and I ate breakfast and watched T.V. I then went back to bed at 12PM and I didn’t wake up until 5PM. I did have a full nights rest the other night too I went back to bed because I didn’t have trouble keeping my eyes closed. When it was 9 PM it felt as if it was 3PM. So I don’t think I should oversleep again. Just get up and do your stuff and don’t get tempted going back to bed.
