Hello everyone, i just wanted to tell you guys of what i am trying right now and you can too if you like it. Right now i am trying to perfect MILD to the point of where i can get a LD a night with it as it seems to be a very reliable technique if you are good and have practiced. Right now i am working on improving my future intentions memory. For example the memory that helps you do this: You say in the morning i need to get eggs at the store. Later on in the day you remember- OH yes~! eggs i needed those! If i can get really good at that then i should be very good at MILD. for those of you who dont know. Mild is where you repeat before you go to bed (can be different) but “The next time im in a dream, I’ll realize im dreaming” From that you can tell you are using your future intentions memory part (not sure exactly what the memory part is called)
But to be VERY good at this, you dont only want to remember the intention by seeing something. For example-- it would technically be more unreliable if you did this-- you tell yourself in the morning i have piano lessons at 3. Then later at maybe 2:50, you see a piano and suddenly remember- OH yea! i have lessons at 3 and you get ready. To a certain degree you only got lucky you remembered. What would be better is being aware of your lessons constantly throughout the day such as you tell yourself in the morning i have piano lessons at 3. Then maybe an hour later you remind yourself of your lessons. You constantly tell yourself throughout the day of your lessons and are consiously aware of them. Then when the time comes you are completely ready for your lessons.
The same thing goes for lucid dreaming. Say before bed you tell yourself " The next time im dreaming, I’ll realize im dreaming" You then fall asleep and in the dream later you are just mindlessly going along when you randomly see on a sign that reads “Dreaming is Fun” You then suddenly realize you are dreaming. The problem is though- you are not always going to see something like that in your dreams. So you have to keep working on getting better at Future intentions in Waking life. It would be better if at the beginning of the dream you become consious you are dreaming just because you told yourself you would be and was focusing on that.
To get better at your future intentions what i read in ‘exploring the world of Lucid Dreaming’ is you can make a list in the morning like this–
- When a dog barks
- When i hear music
- When i hear the doorbell ring
- When i see a balloon
Then you memorize the list and dont look at it for the rest of the day. Then throughout the day you should be telling yourself to be consious and be almost looking for these things to happen. And being aware of whats around you. Then hopefully when say out in the distance you hear a dog bark BAM!! you realize thats what you were looking for and do a reality check. At the end of the day you look at your list and out a check if you got it right the FIRST time you heard/saw/did something or an X if you failed to notice it the first time. Put a little indication if you are positive you didnt see it through out the whole day. Then doing this should help you perfect the MILD tecnique. I hope this helps people and please do correct me if i said anything wrong or if you have something to add
