Last night I was sleeping alone in a camping area in a sleeping bag. In the middle of the night I heard some shouting from a road below the camping area. As I woke up, I realized I was hearing a male and female police officer trying to arrest someone, ordering him to drop his weapon.
I realized I could possibly be hit by a stray bullet, so I crawled down to an area that was more cut off from the cops and their quarry. When I got there I lay flat and listened to more of the yelling.
But then suddenly I woke up at the place where I had been sleeping!
What I had experienced a moment earlier had been a false awakening. There was nobody shouting from below.
Things like this start to happen to you when you become a frequent lucid dreamer.
Yep, FA’s can be pretty damn realistic. One time I had a music competition coming up and repeated the same morning 3 times! In all cases my uniform was lost. I finally decided to wake up for real and put my uniform out for peace of mind.
Also had scary ones as a child where I’d be in my bed and the army would be outside my window, and approaching.
But nowadays, I don’t mind FA’s too much. I find there’s a sense of accomplishment in becoming lucid after one. “HA! I beat the dream!” Also nice to find you haven’t really woken up after a LD and can keep the dream going longer.
Yeah, happened to me also, cuz every morning when I woke up, the first thing I do is to look out of the window,(but not any more after this FA >>>) and I had FA, so I look out, it was early in the morning, I didn’t do RC as the first thing after waking up, and I thought to my self: ok, it’s early, no need to get up yet, and went to sleep, and also it was raining outside… So when I actually woke up, I was like: deammmmmmm! and there was no sign of a rain, just a lovely sunny day!
