Problem caused by difficulty sleeping?

I’ve been trying for a short while now, but the main problem I have is that it takes me about 2 hours to get to sleep (variable - I sometimes take around 4-5 hours, but this is rare) so I give up on practicing a technique and just try to drift off (which still takes a long time). Is there anything I can do to help accelerate my slide into sleep while still remaining aware enough to LD?

If I were you…
-Try a MILD, give up WILD. (Just do a casual MILD each night for small effect)
-For problems sleeping, try some relaxation mp3 while trying to sleep. I suggest maybe a LD induction CD of some sort.
-VILD + MILD might be a good way to go, it enables you to visualize while trying to fall asleep.

WILD for me is very difficult, because even saying “Next time I am dreaming, I will remember to recognize I am dreaming” keeps me awake without daydreaming. I may be able to stay awake to do WILD, just not interested in inducing LD’s that way. I would rather get used to inducing them mainly through DILD, using some MILD.
