Problems staying Lucid

Hey! for a start, I havent tried to Lucid for a while now but this night I had a LD (pretty sure about it), I was on this hill, then some characters from a game came running against me and I realized that I had to be dreaming, then I just turned around and tried to fly, I saw a friend down at the ground and flew down to him, then I started talking to him and forgot about I being lucid, so my dream continued without me being in control.
Have you guys any tip on how to stay lucid and not lose focus?
:help:

Yeah, keep thinking about it. While you do stuff, like flying, keep in mind that you’re dreaming.

There are a lot of “stabilizing” techniques. First of all, you can ask for more lucidity at the very beginning of your LD. For instance, cry “Increase Lucidity!” or something like that.
Another techniques are based upon focusing on an object (for instance your hands, or the ground) in your dream. What I’m doing, it’s staring at my hands from time to time in my dreams. It works rather well for me and for some other people.
The longest LD I’ve had was after having focused (quite unvoluntarily) on a little golden stone which seemed very strange to me, and I wanted to remember any details. After this, I had a very long LD (quite 20 minutes) !

BW: More proof that my concentrating tech works . But with my one, I take it a step further (stimulate sight, tough and you also have to think about how you actually seem to be IN the dream). I’m working on that tech ATM actually… I just need some LD’s to work on it (points at Feb’s LD counter)

Anyways, I find a good way to keep lucid is to simply keep on reminding yourself that it’s a dream, like comparing how real it is to real life, thining about how cool it and simply by telling yourself ‘this is a dream’.

Thanks for the replies guys, the odd thing (I forgot to mension it) was that when I flew down to my friend, I stared at him and though something like “it’s odd how real this dream seems to be” and he looked very very real, then I kinda, lost focus. I think it is as you say that I have to focus on LD’ing all the time, so I’ll try that combined with rubbing hands or something like that :cheesy:

I seem to have the same problem. The last two Ld’s I have had, resulted in losing focus. I’m kind of a newb, but it seems like I become lucid in the wierdest ways. I just feel like flying away and I realize I’m lucid. Than after a minute of flying around a little bit, I lose focus. I seem to concentrate a lot on my flying. So maybe thats how…?

im writing a guide for this sort of thing, and as soon as i get some constructivecriticisim in the librarians corner, ill get the ball rolling on that again…

Silence, That sounds great!! I’m looking forward to reading it! :cheesy:
