Purging Certain Dreams

Hi it sounds crazy yeah but i want to stop certain dreams altogether and nothing is working ive tried using music and images to stop them. It would work and they would go away temporarily but no real results can somebody help me out please.

I’m a bit philosophical about such dreams. I firmly believe and my own experiences have reconfirmed, that if you are having a certain type of dream, there is a reason for it. I don’t mean from a spiritual perspective, I mean from a psychological perspective. To get rid of the dreams, I would try to deal with what is causing them. If you are dreaming about being violent and attacking or killing people for example, then I would tend to connect that to feelings of anger in reality, especially if that anger is repressed or not being adequately acknowledged. I would suggest to consider what is causing you to dream what you are, and act on that. (I don’t mean hit people if you feel angry, rather look for other solutions)

^ wize words up there.

just to add to GD’s post…to access your unconscious beliefs, and to conquer them, thereby freeing yourself from limitation, notice the feeling in your dreams surrounding these DC or dream scenes. your feeling will give you a clue as to what you believe yourself to be in relation to said dream…knowing the thought/belief behind the negatively percieved actions will help overcome them.

the truth is, your not who you THINK you are

I’ve succeeded in getting rid of dreams before by simply saying “I wish this never happens again” in a dream. I’ve never had any of those dreams i’ve used it in again.

Dreams reflect WL. There’s no way around that. I’ve noticed that when I go through life hazy and disconnected, my dreams are the same way. In essence, no lucidity.

I also believe that sometimes my SC tries to teach me things in dreams. I would miss my nightmares if they went away, but they can shake me up IWL too. Some of my more recent posts in my DJ have a dream or two that really affected me afterwards. I’m not exactly sure if those are trying to teach me something or are just something that’s not a dominant part of me surfacing in dreams.

Anyhow, I’d first look at the themes and look for a correlation to issues in WL if it were happening to me. I believe dreams are not only fun, but can be used to improve WL as well. WL improves dreams, and dreams improve WL, even if both do so in weird ways.

I have no idea what those dreams are about, but anything recurring in dreams are exactly what you want. Dreamsigns are never bad, and when you become lucid you can choose to dream something else. Decide RIGHT NOW that the next time you encounter the dream you will recognize that you are dreaming. This is the best recourse, because either it causes the dreams to stop, solving your problem, or the dreams continue forever and you have not a recurring unpleasant dream, but a recurring startingpoint for lucid dreaming.
