question about sounds

hi! i discovered this site last night and became interested in lucid dreaming and all this stuff. when i went to bed, i was thinking a lot about it, and this morning i had a dream which i could remember (i rarely remember dreams) and i wrote it down. but my real question is:

when i woke up i felt pretty groggy like i always do in the morning  but i could hear this strange music, and i think i sat up in my bed while listening to it. it sounded very alien, if you know what i mean. i could hear the bass and rhythm too. i thought to myself that it was probably just from one of the neighboring apartments and didn’t think much more of it and got up and showered. then i read that strange sounds is a sign of something, and i started wondering. by the way; the walls in my building block sounds pretty well… i can play pretty loud music before my neighbour who lives on the other side of the wall hears it.

i know have experienced sleep paralysis and false awakenings before, and i was wondering if this might have been a false awakening? the text says something about out-of-body experiences, but i hardly think that was it. there wasn’t anything else that is worth mentioning except that i felt pretty weird all morning. i kept counting my fingers and trying to push my finger through the palm of my hand in the shower just to make sure i was really awake  i think i was like this because i read so much about all this last night, though… and it seemed strange that i could experience this so quickly, if i did. i’ve always been a skeptic

by the way; you guys have probably seen the movie “vanilla sky”? if not, you’d probably like it… i know i did. -edit: of course you have. stupid question

ngh. i rarely write posts in a forum, but if i do i always write a (relatively) long one.

Hypnopompic halucinations.
They can be auditory or visual (more in the ‘minds eye’ i think).

Ooh…and a big ‘WELCOME’. :alien:

I’ve also started attempting lucidity just over a week ago and the more dreams I’ve been having the more I begin to realize how little a hear sound or remember sound being in my dreams. Its like in my dreams I know what people are saying and they no what I’m saying but theres really no sound… Im wondering if sound will be more omnipresent as I progress as a dreamer and is there any way to increase sound?

Hope you can help me
