Hey everyone in a week ive had 3 lucid dreams. Im so proud that I had that much because well I only have one a week at times. But one of those lucid dreams I had was kinda weird I had woken up in my room and it was a false awakening. I saw myself doing a reality check and I was lucid I remember playing around like sticking my finger through my hand and it was cool but one I got to my door I blurted out I hope there is not a scary little girl behind this door. At the time I think I was scared for some reason, and I never blurted it out on purpose It just came out and Its like I had no control and i opened the door and there was the scary little girl and i ran past her and I had lost lucidity and turned into a nightmare…
Can anyone explain why this happend?
Are you sure you were lucid? You could of been lucid at first and gradually went really low-level lucidity.
It’s typical in dreams that if you think something will happen, it will. Last night I was dreaming I was in the backyard and I felt like I was expecting someone to come through the gate. Sure enough a young boy appeared.
I think what happened is that you knew it was a dream but you let your emotion get the better of you and you lost lucidity to your fear and expectation of the girl being behind the door.
But wait, you said you saw yourself doing a reality check. Does that mean your false awakening was in third person view?
Well Don’t think I was in third person I think I was in first person for example me looking at the computer. I remember playing around though while doing a reality check. Like when I stuck my finger through my hand I could feel my hand trying to repel my finger so it was kinda fun trying to battle it out with my hand but yeah I had to been doing that for about 30 seconds. I think its because I did not build up enough awareness and lucidity. In a previous LD I had gotten lucid randomly and I was at school I decided to do a reality check just to see what it feels like I already knew I was dreaming and that itself almost woke me up lol but I learned to calm myself I also just felt my face and my whole body I dont know to increase awareness and I told myself I was dreaming maybe every 30 seconds. That increased my Ld probably by 5 mins most of my lds are like 20 seconds long lol. Any ideas on how to have a longer LD and to keep lucidity?
