Questions about WILD

1: Can you still have LD’s no matter how wide awake your mind is?
2: Could it help to have to think a moment about what you’re concentrating on? (IE: Counting in a foreign language)
3: Do you ever need to do RC’s when you use WILD?
4: Do you just look straight forward with your eyes? Or do you just roll them back?

I’ve never had a LD yet, and I just want to use the WILD technique because I heard you have virtually complete control over WILD LD’s. The reasoning behind that is because my normal dreams are astoundingly stupid, and i’d rather not “walk in” to one of those. (Swimming in a 3ft deep pool that’s too narrow and I can’t move, accepting friend requests on MSN, reading a forum, etc.)

1: I don’t think your mind can be too awake for wilding, since the point
is to keep your mind awake

2: You don’t need something hard to concentrate on, as long as it keeps your
mind from falling asleep then it’s good

3: Not usually, you can probably do them to increase lucidity or for fun

4: i found the best thing to do is to put your eyes in a comfortable position
and then try not to move them that much, and paralysis will occur faster.

Goodluck!

Alright thanks!
I thought of one more thing though, do you keep counting and ignore the hypno state with all the sounds and colors? Or should you count to stay concious, and pay attention to whats going on?

All you have to do is stay concious, and aware of yourself. If you loose awareness of your self you will fall asleep. Let your eyes do what every they want by themselves, don’t move them consciously. WILDing might be much easier for you if you can actually reach that “hypno state”. I usually just see very powerful HI get Body paralysis and reach dreamland. Counting might actually be bad since it can distract you, your brain, and mess up your HI.

Ok I tried this, and I think I had a couple seconds of Lucidity, or close to it… I’m not sure though. It was something like seeing my dream on a tv screen, but I think the next step was to “walk into it,” right? Although… I just got rid of it because I thought I was being dumb and letting my thoughts wander (I was thinking, not counting.)

Also, I saw HI and heard sounds like a submarine’s radar.

I’m just starting to become lucid. I have tis friend that said starting off with MILD and then trying WILD is the best thing. I don’t know, I’ve not had a lucid dream yet. He could be wrong, but yet again his theory does sound logical.

Ahhh man I did it with MILD, and got such horrible SP… Every breath I would take would get shorter and shorter until I wasn’t breathing at all, so I had to back out. I didn’t panic or anything, it just went down like that. I’ll try it again tonight
