In the weekends, where i don’t have to wake up at a specific time, i just stay in bed for a while after waking up. When i do this, random words pops into my mind, and i can’t control what words that comes. But i can think about the words how i want. Pretty creepy
It happens to me too, the mind tends to wander wildly when in near-sleep states. One thing to do to control them is learning to meditate, or you can just try to be aware of what your mind’s thinking at those moments, mantaining consciousness and presence.
It is also very interesting, to know what deeper recesses into your mind contain
Wow, kinda cool.
that happens with me too, but not just single words, sometimes phrases.
It’s rare for me, but sometimes I get phrases too. Once I “heard” loud’n’clear when I woke up, that I was Prometheus in another life. Go figure the SC.
It used to happen to me a lot - that I would hear sentences and words which seemed completely random. At times, these voices were turning louder and louder, eventually waking me up for how loud they were.
i get this too- it’s like i’m reading a book in my sleep, and the sentences keep coming out, though i always forget them by the time i wake up.
ahem
List of phrases I’ve heard myself say:
“I’ll stare death straight in the eye!”
“Yes, well that one girl in the gang has a purse that could really hurt you.” (What gang? There are no gangs around here!)
“Was he the one who did it?”
I was lying in bed when these popped up.
omg, this happens to me all the time. Mine are so complicated. I hear brief conversations between many different people. Names aren’t said very often, but they are usually know to me as simple characters, like a girl, a boy, mom, dad, or a brother or sister. Or something random like a bear.
When this happens to me, Sometimes they go through a dialogue between a few characters that are made up, that briefly tell a story! I have some kind of control over this where I allow these voices to do what they do while completely consciously observing what is being said. Man, sometimes I really love listening to them! It’s hard to explain how I kinda of let this happen, like I tell my mind to start making these random phrases and whatnot to happen, but it’s so cool
They get more complex the more you invite them in your head.
I hate the way completely random phrases snake their way into my head while falling asleep. They completely push away the normal mind and bring it into the surreal dream state. A couple nights ago I was trying to lure myself into sleep by thinking “It’s time to dream, i’m getting tired, i’m falling asleep” and somehow the phrase “Put the guru’s head in the toilet” managed to sneak in, and I was repeating it over and over until I realized what I was thinking.
Other times instead of making my head fuzzy, they are observable. I hear people having angry arguments, or saying phrases like “What does that mean? It makes no sense!”
I get them, too. I don’t usually remember them, but I wrote one down once. The phrase was so odd, “witch water tits” … kind of catchy though, no?
lol, yeah that is catchy, but really funny. I don’t know why, it just is
Yes! A couple times I fell asleep while working at my computer, and I guess I just kept typing. When I woke up there were all these random words and gibberish sentences - wish I had saved some of them. I’m always trying to remember some of the funnier ones while I drift into oblivion.
Now that I think about it, I’m pretty sure I’ve had some random phrases pop into my head before falling asleep, not that I remember any. I’ll try to remember some tonight or tomorrow morning to see how strange my mind is.
I will sometimes hear music and lyrics. Many times leading me to a full day of music composition.
Most of the time it is just normal hypnagogic sound hallucination, but I think that sometimes it can be other things.
Last night I was having a full-blown auditory hallucination (or so I thought at first) of a rather obnoxious radio commercial, then I remembered that people can sometimes hear radio when they are about to leave their bodies. I induced an exit technique, and sure enough I got up & out, then launched myself to the astral plane. Woohoo!
