Last night, I had a ND where I was really, really mad. Then, I kicked a object that was in the floor as strong as I could - which apparently caused my leg to move IRL and I woke up because it hit the wall of my bedroom.
The strange thing was: I have more dexterity in my right side and I’m 100% sure that I used my right foot to kick that object, but it was my left leg that moved IRL.
That said, when I was a child I used a technique in order to wake up from nightmares (at least until I discovered that I could create my own powers ) which was to close my eyes as strong as I could, and open it fast. It worked sometimes, and sometimes it caused FAs.
Maybe kicking that object had a similar effect? And why my left leg, and not my right leg, moved? What do you guys think about it?
It is kind of odd that the left leg moved… but I do know I’ve had a couple of times that my RL body has moved when I’m really into an intense dream scene. The worst time it happened to me I was about to punch a DC and almost smacked my head into the night stand. I think it mostly has to do with an adrenaline rush breaking you out of SP. Again, I don’t know for sure but it seems the most likely to me. Different leg moving… yeah, I’m stumped.
Are you somewhat ambidextrous with your legs, or is there a clear distinction?
Was your left leg in a more comfortable position than your right leg? (i.e. laying on top of your right leg)
Antylamon: There’s a clear distinction. I always use my right leg for kicking objects (football/soccer balls for instance).
Regarding to the position of my legs… It’s a possibility. I thought of another thing too: maybe my right leg moved my left leg. Sadly, I only woke up after my left leg touched the wall, so I have no idea on what really happened before that.
Oh well. It’s not like you can solve it just by thinking about it, in that case.
If you really want to figure it out, you could go with drastic measures by recording yourself sleeping, then hope that it happens again. Not worth it in my opinion, but it’s your question.
I was on vacation in Hungary. Sleeping next to my girlfriend in the bed her mother died not long ago. On the side her mother used to sleep. She did not want to.
So that was rather strange for me, a litle bit scary.
She gone asleep before me. I was watching a gangster movie with lots of shootings and killling people. After the movie I gone to sleep and had a nightmare.
Gangsters shoot at me and the only possible way to avoid bullits was to jump in a hole. I waked up laying on the ground next to the bed. Nothing hurt.
So it is possible. Sleep paralysis, to prevent you from realy moving in your dreams is not working then.
