Imagine how terrifying it would be, to live an endless dream and occasionally wake up to “reality”, with all its features, with your only escape beeing to endure it long enough to get tired and go to sleep again.
This concept is definitely not new, especially among dreamers. But if that was the case then we’d just be living our lives on two worlds governed by different rules. And the one we (seem to) spend more time in we call reality and the other one dream. But those are just words assigned to concepts. And I don’t see a point in swapping their meaning, which is somehow the thought experiment you are enticing us to do, right? Or is there more to your idea?

I seem to agree with Marvin for this one.The cncept of living in a dream endlessly and waking up to reality occasionally does seem to be known among dreamers.
