Everytime you walk through a doorway in the ‘waking’ world you do a reality check?
I have not yet induced a lucid dream but have been trying for around a week… Do you think if i do a reality check everytime I go through a doorway I will eventually have a DILD?
And what do you think is the most effective, quickest RC to do in this situation. Because I can recall in some RD’s walking through doorways, and if i got my conscious mind aware of doing a RC it would probably pick up on it wouldn’t it?
But most of the doorways I walk through are shut, do you think holding my nose and trying to breath then saying in my head am i dreaming will do ok? or go extreme and do 2 RC’s?
Yeah but I was thinking walking through a doorway, because there is so many of them and so many in dreams aswell that if I do it so much, probably about 100 doors a day, especially because of school that I will get a mindset on it and do it oftenly in a dream??
What are good, quick RC’s to do on the spot without needing any other objects?

The ancient Egyptians, I hear, did just this. Or at least, they would ask themselves if they were dreaming when passing a doorway. This was practice for the afterlife, and even today, some Freemasons have taken up the practice. Fits right in here, if you look at the symbols on this site.
Yes, more or less. I did this and it worked perfectly. Of course, if you don’t do it every time you pass underneath a doorway, or fall out of the practice, it will stop working. But that’s just common sense.
An important note to remember here is that you don’t necessarily need to think “am I dreaming” when you do the RC. Just make absolutely sure that because you can’t breathe in through your held nose, your not in a dream. Go over this in your head, even.
This is how it should play out: see a door coming, “Ok, door’s coming up, gotta do an rc”, does rc, “Alright, I couldn’t breathe in through my nose, that means I’m not dreaming.”, repeat after every door.
Make sure to keep the RC’s on your mind during the day as well, as to not forget to do these RC’s.
Thoughtfulness almost always happens to be the mother of forgetfulness.
the nose one is good, that is my personal rc as well. Try to breath out all the air in your lungs first and pinch your nose and then breathe, you should feel your chest tighten and remember that feeling, because sometimes in your dream you might think you can’t breathe as well but if you dont have that really tight feeling it means you are dreaming, of courrse, 99% of the time you will just feel the wonder if breathing through pinched nose
