I have been using UILD which is where you do an RC everytime you go to the bathroom, but it doesn’t seem to be working- I’m not RCing when I’m in a dream… I usually use the one where you try to breath in while holding your nose
Should I just give it time or should I try something different?
Well, do you usually go to bathrooms in your dreams? Your subconscious might already be programmed to RC every time you go to the bathroom, but you don’t go to the bathroom in LDs anyway.
That, and how long have you been doing this? Sometimes, it needs to take a little bit of time to work…
Well you probably don’t go to the bathroom more than 10 times a day, or at least I hope not, lol. You should up the number of RC’s you do a day. It seems to work for me since most of my LD’s are DILD. Also, when you RC, make sure you ask yourself mentally or out loud, “Am I dreaming or not?”, and really consider the question.
I’ve been going lucid frequently the past week, almost entirely DILD’s. (some FILD/HILD)
For my RC, I plug my nose, try to breathe in and also out through it, while looking at my hand and pulling on a finger. During this whole procedure I ask myself that oh so familiar question.
As part of my dream yoga, I pretend I’m dreaming sometimes for as long as I can. Even if you don’t think dream yoga is for you, you should still try this. It’s pretty fun. Try to do/imagine things not possible IRL. Eventually after doing this for awhile, you’ll be in a dream, and try to fly over a bunch of people that are in your way, and realize you’re dreaming, because you are actually flying over them.
P.S. I estimate that I do RC’s about 50 times a day at least, possibly even a lot more often than that.
For the past week, I’ve been trying desperately to remember to do RCs whenever I see water, my dream sign. Water is very common but not common enough to be EVERYWHERE, so I find it a good choice for a DS. The problem, though, is that my brain just can’t seem to realize that water is my DS, and I never seem to notice it when I see it. I have ADD, too, so I’m not exactly too good at remembering to do things. Does anyone have any tips for remembering to do RCs regularly? Do I need a new dream sign? Or is it just my brain that refuses to remember things that’s the problem?
The same thing happens to me, I’ve a feeling my DS is my family and so I have to try to remember to RC whenever I see any of them. You’d have thought that would have been easy but I still forget!!
To be honest I think its a matter of forming a habbit, so you don’t even think about doing it you just do it automatically. I read that it takes about 30 days to form a habbit so juat keep at it like me
Do you have a favourite RC like seeing if you can fly, or summon things? If you do then I suggest doing a couple of your favourite RCs (or at least thats what I’m doing) and that definately makes it easier to remember.
I personally, hold my nose and see if I can breathe out through it, while looking at my fingers and asking. ‘am I dreaming?’

I don’t think you necessarily need to associate your RC’s with DS’s, although it’s nice when you can. Just make sure you are doing plenty of RC’s each day, and really thinking about it, not just automated hand checks or whatever your RC happens to be. “Am I dreaming or not?” Best question ever!
