Yeah, so to sum it up, I have been learning how to lucid dream for like 3/4 of a year. I have done soooo many reality checks this entire time prob 7 a day or so on average. I have become lucid 4 times, and want to become lucid again. Each time I have though, has never been from a reality check…is there something else I can practice or should I keep doing the sameeeeeeeeeeee thing
Different things work for different people. You have to try other things on top of the RC’s or maybe just different things.
My favorite suggestion is autosuggestion! Really though, try just telling yourself over and over that you WILL have a lucid dream, until you are convinced of it yourself. Think positive. Maybe do this every time you do a RC.
For example:
RC “I will have a lucid dream tonight.” or “I will realized I’m dreaming tonight.”
Also you can try a WBTB. Sometime after falling asleep, have an alarm wake you up (or if you’re really good, just tell yourself to wake up such a time…). Then either immediately fall asleep in a chaining or DEILD method or get up for 15-30 minutes and do some RC’s, autosuggestion, maybe MILD, read about lucid dreaming, what ever. The idea of a WBTB is to fall back to sleep with lucidity in the front of your mind.

Thanks brother, I’ll give that a try just convincing myself i’ll have a lucid dream along with a RC, good deal i’ll let you know how that works out!
Every time that I’ve had a Lucid Dream that actually lasted, it’s been from an RC (The nose RC, to be exact.) Every other time I’ve become just spontaneously Lucid, the dream has ended right afterwards. I know that many people have success with autosuggestion and WBTB, but even if you do decide to try to go with another method, I suggest that you still do Reality Checks throughout the day, just to be sure. Another thing that could be hindering you is the reason behind WHY you reality check during the day. Do you just randomly RC? Or do you tend to notice some sort of logical inconsistency and then do a reality check. I know that electronics tend to not work real well in dreams, so whenever my TV screen flashes (which it does sometimes) I do an RC. I hope I’ve been at least somewhat helpful.
that’s the thing, I do RC’s with my phone, it randomly does it throughout the day to remind me to RC…It hasn’t really helped apparently I just want it too
