I remember doing reality checks, but even though
they fail i dont become lucid, what am i doing wrong?
and also , i don’t think its possible for me because my
dreams are kinda weird and coverd in fog and i have heard
people who lucid dream say everything is clear in the dream?
Don’t be discouraged! ANYONE can become lucid. Your problem may be that when you do your RC’s during the day you know for a fact you are not dreaming and that you are just practicing your RC. What I would suggest doing is during the day when you do your RC you need to really ask yourself if you’re dreaming or not, don’t just do the RC as a habit. Really question whether you’re awake or in a dream, do multiple RC’s and see if you can do things that would be possible in a dream, like making an object float, etc.
Hope this helps!
There are a few things you can do to clear up your dreams. First, if you’re not already, write down every dream to start building your recall. Also, you need to start paying as much attention to your suroundings as possible (this means in RL as well). The more you train yourself to notice things and look at details, the more it will transfer to your dreams.
And just to reiterate what db said, make sure you doubt everything when you do an RC. There’s no way to be sure you’re awake as you may just think you are sure. Do RC’s with the expectation of them working, not of them failing. It should surprise you to be awake
I know what you mean, dreams often feel much darker and foggier than reality, and you also have that weird… distant feeling, almost like you are on the verge of falling asleep (which is actually kind of ironic).
Obviously you will get much clearer surroundings once you become lucid,
probably because you use your senses much more actively.
It actually differs on how much you are actually willing to explore your surroundings with your senses. For example, people that are not used to smell things will rarely feel any in dreams. This works the same for sight - it’s the difference between just looking somewhere, and actually seeing. That’s also the reason senses sharpen in LD’s - as you are much more willing to take anything in than ordinary dream situations.
So, if you want your dreams to become more vivid, you’ll need to pay more attention to their content and this behavior reflects from RL. There’s a need to start observing things in their details, if we want to remember them.
Also, the RC’s failing happens, you may have to do a few tries to convince yourself
Yes, I actually noticed something that could’ve been a dreamsign when I was trying this C-WILD thing the other night:
I looked at my hand and it had a strange shiny colour, almost like it was made of red-orange opaque glass or something.
I don’t remember much more after that though, I probably lost consciousness in the dream or something.
But the counting trick did work, I remember I was counting in the dream which kinda rekindled my interest in lucid dreams anew.
I had that problem when i was a beginner, but after i started to use the counting-fingers RC it has almost never failed usually have about 7 fingers in my dreams.
