Relations through SP and Subconscious

So I was just thinking today, about how when we go into Sleep Paralysis, and some of us have hallucinations of things like witches/demons/evil spirits, just general scary things. But others have hallucinations of just trippy stuff, like unicorns, and stuff like that. So as I was thinking, I knew for a fact, that in some way through lucid dreaming, we have the abilities to communicate with our subconsciousness (no?). My point is, if some people are worried about the scary shit they might see, hear or experience during SP, would there be a way to contact your Subconscious while lucid, and suggest to it things like “Next time I enter Sleep Paralysis, you will show me some nice hula girls” or something along those lines, hehe! But in all seriousness, is something like this possible, and do you think it would be effective?

Personally, I don’t subscribe to the idea that the sub-conscious is some separate entity that you can contact. ‘communicating with your sub-conscious’ is therefore not really something I agree with. For me its more a case of becoming aware of what you believe and altering it. From my perspective your sub-conscious is you, it’s just the assumptions, beliefs and expectations that you hold, that you don’t really realise you hold consciously. At most it merely pattern matches and responds by firing emotions in response to stimulus. The scary things that people often see in SP then, would be caused by a fearful reaction. It’s deeply distressing if you wake up and are unable to move. Some people are at peace with that and aren’t startled or afraid, hence they have weird but not scary SP hallucinations. Some aren’t and loose control of their emotions, becoming afraid. Still others expect to see scary things, and like with most dreams, expect and you shall receive.
