the other day i had a dream in which on of my dream characters used the term “hawthorn effect” which is when the people involved in a study know their actions are being measured and so they purposely change their actions so the study results come out “right.” the thing is that i had only heard of this once at least a year ago if not more when someone told me about it and since i am generally bad at remembering names of things i forgot the name the next day but i did remember what it ment. i thought it was an interesting topic so remembering the name had been bugging me for quite a while after i had forgetten it but i never did find out the name. now completely unexpectedly out of nowhere it pops up in one of my dreams. when my dream character said the name i knew exactly what they ment by it. after i woke up i made sure to look up what “hawthorn effect” ment right after i woke up and it turns out that my dream character had used it correctly. i think this is amazing because i had no conscious memory of the name for this concept so it must have been stored away in my subconscious for all that time until it randomly appeared in my dream. i can’t think of any reason why it would be in my dream now. this definitely increases my faith in the power of the subconscious mind and things like photoreading where you only skim the pages and then later access the information subconsciously stored in your head through lucid dreaming or other means. has anyone had a similar experience?
I had something like that once. In a dream Bill Cosby mentioned Pythius which is an oracle in greek mythology. I’m not really into greek mythology, but when I looked it up, there it was. It was probably mentioned in a book I read once, or referenced or something. Frankly, I don’t know how the hell I had come across it previously.
I had once something similar aswell… A dreamcaracther told me she was feeling blue, which i automaticly knew what meant during the dream, even though i did not know that word in waking state…
The power of subconsciousness is interesting indeed.
Imagine the possiblities of being able to unlock it during the waking state!
