Say example, you don't know about LD's now you do....

Would it be any differant if you decided to keep using the same technique? Before I first heard about Lucid dreaming. I used to Meditate and record my dreams for no apparent reason other then the fact that Iam a Christian and I believe that Christians would record their dreams. Meditation is also a part of being Christian. Now I find out that Meditation can be part of Lucid dreaming which explains the reason why I had a Lucid dream, not knowing that I had Lucid dreams and being in the present moment, knowing that Iam dreaming and calmly controlling everything around me or being curiouse about things around me. So then I started reading about Lucid dreaming and anything else that had to do with Lucid dreaming. I’m now struggling thease days with recording my dreams and any time I get good at recording them, I start to stop recording them becuase I can’t remember , I say the night before that Iam going to have a Lucid dream, and that’s when I stop remembering. They also tend to get very long and I have too much to record. It’s like writing a Book and it’s hard to record that much information. How do you go about writing all the details? If I leave just a little bit of information out, my dreams can get shorter and shorter to the point where I don’t remember anything again and Iam back at the beginning.
Iam using a differant technique and I don’t think it’s working very well. I am not sure I would even call it a technique.

I also have weird dreams where Iam totally opposite person and I have a totally differant mind, and I do things that are totally not me. Sometimes they get so weird and uncomfortable that I don’t want to write it down. Has anyone had this happen to you? Why does this happen?

It is not bad or wrong to be Lucid , it is perfectcly normal, I don’t understand how people can consider it being astrology, it doesn’t fit the astrology area. Just letting you know that.
Since somehow I became Lucid without intending to. It basically just means that your aware.

Now I wonder if that same technique would still work? Now that I know what it is. I know this question kinda sounds dumb or maybe Iam questioning faith here. But I just need assurance I guess. I Also I’d like to know what Autosuggestion is. I have read about it in the forums but I didn’t get a clear description on it. Is it something to do with simply saying “I want to remember my dreams and I will remember them when I wake up?” Or is there more to it? I hope you can give me some advice, any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Sorry for re editing it several times, the first time I posted it, this message didn’t come out right and sorry for writing it two times, on the forum. I did delete the other one though. The board froze when trying to post the message. Which made me refresh the page.

.

It happens to me all the time. It happens because during a dream your brain works differently. Try to get used to it and don’t overanalize the dreams. It usually has no sense any way. If something is very uncomfortable to write, then just write it very short or just skip to the next thing. That’s what I do.

Thanks for the advice/help and that is a good idea, only little bit of detail gets taken away and I have a hard time remembering anything.

I find that the more I record my dreams, the more easily I can remember my dreams for the next couple of days. I guess you have to figure out how to make this process enjoyable, and to bring something unique out of the experience that you truly treasure which helps you to appreciate the process. There isn’t any hard and fast way to remember your dreams without trying.
My personal technique to increase dream recall, as I’m a Harry Potter fan, is to visualise the Hogwarts teachers all casting ‘Dream Recall’ spells on me before I go to sleep.
:wizard: Use you imagination, this is what dreams are all about!

Thanks for the help! I found a better way to do the RC’s which Iam able to ask and not feel annoyed about it and for sure know that I will know Iam dreaming when I remember one and I did exactly what you just said. I have rememberd a few dreams now and I have rememberd two in two nights so far. I still have little glimpses and shorter dreams, but not exactly glimpses. But Iam happy with what I can remember, if I remember anything at all, since Iam starting over in Recalling my dreams. I doubt myself that I will be able to recall anything later, but it looks like I just need to be stubborn and keep writing, I don’t remember anything, until I do, when that time comes. I have been reading about Dreaming, to hopefully help my mind remember to remember and I repeat this one phrase until I go to bed. “I will remember to remember.” Or “Remember to remember my dreams.” For short, I actually say it that way and it works. So Duh to me, I didn’t want to use that advice earlier.
And now your probably like, well I thought you wanted more info, but problem was, I wasn’t trusting my own advice and when I came back, I found you posting this answer, and your answer is well sorta along the lines of what I already thought, the info is right infront of me, trust it!! Lol. When I read about Dreams, I have found my problem.it happend to be an obviouse one, (I don’t go to bed early anymore) Iam sorry if this post doesn’t make sence. Thanks Snape for the advice. It worked.
