I’m really facinated with all the things I’m learning about becoming lucid, and I’d really like to try it. However, there’s one little problem: I’m afraid of ending up in SP. I’ve only been in SP once, when I was much younger, and it was terrifying (hallucinations, strange echoing voices, really fast heartbeat, room spinning, etc). I was wondering, is there any way to get into a lucid state WITHOUT experiencing SP? I’d really appreciate it.
By the way - sorry if this is a little off-topic for this forum, I wasn’t sure where to put it because it deals with lucidity and SP. If I put it in the wrong place, just let me know!
Heya! Good question… yes! There are ways of going lucid without experiencing SP… But, the truth is everynight, we all do go through it-- conscious or not. It very much harmless, if not frightening-- But yes! There are ways of going lucid that don’t involve staying awake through SP.
MILD is really just auto-suggestion, and shouldn’t put you through it… When you have a DILD, you realize while you’re already dreaming that you’re dreaming-- so having the hallucinations shouldn’t be a problem… other alternative techs like VILD would be good too ^^~
This sort of thread would probably be better in Quest for Lucidity-- since it regards getting lucid, rather than general lucidity! ^^~ I think a mod could move it for you~ :3 But hey! Don’t be sorry-- Everyone’s gone through that time where they don’t know what goes where on LD4ALL-- So much to take in! ^^~
Good luck! There’s nothing to fear when it comes to SP-- though sometimes frightening, it’s really harmless- as long as you remember that, you’ll be fine.
But hey-- there are other techs where I’ve not heard of Sp experiences before-- Someone else might know better

And I can agree with you XP~ I have a very short attention span-- for me, it needs to be pretty much auto-matic, and can’t be too hard to remember XD

By the way, I looked at your DC pics…they’re awesome! I love how they all have distinct personalities and stuff. Very creative! I can’t wait til I get an LD so I can create some DCs of my very own.
