The last couple of nights of had nightmares all pretty much based on the same thing…I’ll tell you about the one i remember most
I remember castle looking thing and i was with my litle brother and this guy was chaseing me and him…trying to kill my litle brother. he had a sword and i stood in the way of my litle brother to try and save him. i kept trying to tell my bother to run but he wouldn’t.My lil brother was trying to stay with me he didn’t want to leave. the guy kept cuting me telling me to move.finally he hurt me bad enough that i fell to the ground then i looked up and he stabed my brother. I woke up crying.
I had dreams like this 3 nights in a row. I’m scared to sleep. It all started when i started remembering my dreams again. I don’t know what to do…if you can help please write back!
I know how you feel. When i was younger i had this really scary dream where i would be home alone in this cottage in the middle of nowhere sitting on the couch then suddenly there was a smash at the window and a rock came flying through it. I jumped i up scared shitless and then i see this monster god it was scary walk right past the window then turn and look at me. It would then start shouting and run towards the door still shouting Die. It kicked down the door easily since it was a monster and started chasing me through the house then as it was about to get me i woke up. This happend for about 3days in a row, no jokes. Then on the 4th day i was planning to beat the dream. I thought constantly through out the day how to kill this thing. Then sleep came and the same thing happend but when the monster knocked down the door i ran upstairs and went to my room and MAGICLY picked out a machine gun from my wardrobe. Went to the stairs got it in view and said, “Never ever ever bother me again and leave me alone!!!” i then repeatedly shot the monster till it didnt move. I was 10 when this dream happend. That was a really scary dream. Ok SORRY for babbling on. Ok so what my point is to BEAT the dream. So plan what your going to do and when the time comes you will know your dreaming because its happend so many times so you know what your going to do. I would recommend as the man is chasing you and your lil bro to run to a bedroom in the castle and find a gun or something or a sword. Just what ever you do beat the dream and you wont have it again.
Sorry for the long post but i hope it helped
When I was about 8 I used to have this repetitive nightmare that I would always wake up terrified from. I remember that I didn’t want to go to sleep. Then my parents told me my dog would protect me, even in my dreams. Whenever I had a nightmare they said to call the dog and he would come and help me. The very next night I had the nightmare and my dog came to my aid. After than anytime I had a bad dream the dog was there. If you have a dog you might try this…or pick your favorite fierce animal and enlist its help Good luck!
I have to admit that I firmly believe in dreams being symbolic. Although, I realize they aren’t all the time. But when they are recurring like yours, I think it might be.
Understand that I am not thinking that your brother may die or be killed. Heaven’s no!
Maybe it’s a part of you that acknowledges how protective you are of him and maybe by you trying to ward off the attacker until finally taking a fall might be indicating that you try to guide him irl but he might not listen; making you feel defeated.
Don’t be afraid to go to sleep. Your dreams are yours and what happens in them is also yours. Try thinking or revisiting those dreams before falling asleep and visualize what you might do differently if the dream came again. You can either think that you go Elektra on the guy or laugh your head off as you watch him trip over the Dumbo ear spell you put on him.
for the recurring nightmare. I have them alot with my son, before him it was with my daughter. I feel your pain and I’m confident that you’ll sleep well soon.
I woke up at 4.30am this morning, filled with dread from a similar sounding dream. It went on for so long and all the time I was trying to protect my daughters from danger (in this case a ravaging lightening storm). My six-year-old kept running off and doing the opposite of what I told her. She was quite oblivious to the danger at first, but by the end of the dream, I was just cuddling her and waiting for the storm to end. It was awful.
I woke up feeling terribly afraid for my children and I had to go to their rooms to check that they were okay.
I did manage to get back to sleep afterwards, after repeating to myself that it was just a dream and saying a few prayers.
I was so happy to see her and cuddle her this morning
I think Illuminada is exactly right in what she said. The dream was an expression of protective feelings and I think I must take her advice about visualising and changing the dream.
when i was younger about 12 i had this very scary nightmare that would happen atleast twice a weak about this ugly monster and after a while i could focus on my eyes and open them really wide in the dream… and BAM! there i am awake in my bed
i would do that everytimes since then maybe try it yourself
