Sensory perception in dreams

Exactly like the flavour text says - I have extremely poor sensory perception in my dreams. I have no sense of smell, I’ve had taste once, very rarely touch, sound is extremely muffled or sounds like it’s coming from inside my head, and my vision is…undetailed. The only thing I have more of in dreams is emotion - I get angry or cry much more easily in dreams than in real life. I have good dream recall and have been keeping a dream journal for a while, but this (the sensory perception, that is) doesn’t seem to be improving at all.

This problem is actually making me tentative to continue pursuing LDs - what’s the point of, say, being able to fly, if I can’t feel the wind rushing past me? Does anyone have any techniques for improving, or is this the kind of thing that comes with your first LD?

Next time try shouting, INCREASE LUCIDITY! Works like a charm for me, clears up blurry vision, etc. It’s like taking a cold shower when you’re groggy.

I’ve been aware before, and achieved lucidity once, but immediately lost it P: I’ve yet to actually have a full-on lucid dream.

it’s the same with me in some cases, my sense of touch and smell isn’t there altogether, though my vision is good and although my hearing is brilliant I never remember what is said when DCs talk to me…
