Showering before bed

Anyone experimented with this one? Was wondering if I should cut it out of my schedule or keep it the same. I do take showers before I go to bed.

Interesting question… I too almost always take showers before going to bed, I find that when I attempt to sleep without showering first, I have an extremely hard time going to sleep. Kinda off topic but ever since I started sleeping…er, unclothed a couple of years ago, it’s also very hard for me to sleep clothed :content:

So unfortunately, I probably won’t be of much help
Give it a shot and tell me how it goes, though. I may just drop my showering routine if you suddenly LD at will

Showering before bed helps me get sleepy faster, and i usually fall asleep very slowly. I haven’t notice any change in dream recall. If i am in a situation where i can’t shower, there are usually many other things affecting sleep quality as well. (Different bed, different food, etc)

Right before I had my first LD after consciously starting the practice, I took a shower with water as hot as I could still tolerate and was trying to be aware of everything I could perceive. Don’t know if it was the shower, coincidence or something else though.

Ill try this and see if it gives sharper LD’s :cool_raz:

sounds good.

and yeah I will try this out before going to bed.

I did not remember the dream

But Ill try again :cool_raz:

I didn’t take one before bed and there was nothing different. I still had semi good recall.

lol coincidence, took a hot one as usual before bed and bingo great LD this morning.

yeah, lol

Depending where you live, your city/town may have treated the water with chlorine (not sure, but i think this happens almost everywhere in the western world). This produces a drowsy effect because you inhale the steam given off which contains gaseous chlorine. It seems logical that if you shower right before bed, then you will be able to get to sleep easier because of the drowsy effect. I dont know how long the effect actualyl lasts for, but try and be aware of this next time you shower right before going to bed, as focusing on how tired it makes you feel may make it alot easier to fall asleep.
