I’ve just recently started get into lucid dreaming and dream journals and stuff so I haven’t really been expecting anything to happen yet. But last night I was going to sleep, I’d being thinking my mantra in time with my breathing for about a half hour when I’d tried to do that thing where you feel like your going cross-eyed and falling or something.
Really suddenly, my eyes started twitching, out of my control (I think) and I starting shaking, but apparently my parents didn’t hear anything. Even though I had my eyes closed everything went even more black. It’s kind of difficult to explain.
Anyway but this time I was very freaked out and my heart was beating so fast, I was actually worried I was going to have a heart attack. I tried staying calm, but by this time I felt like my limbs were stuck to the bed. I was so scared I just had to open my eyes. But in hind sight it was pretty cool.
I tried to do it again, but I think I was trying too hard and in the end I just fell asleep naturally, I woke up a few times convinced I was dreaming and got up and looked in all the mirrors. But I was definately awake. I looked on wikipedia and I think this could be the start of staying aware when falling asleep. Has anyone else managed to do that. I think is called Wake Initiated Lucid Dreaming??
Ive been experiencing this since I try to reach LD’s through WILD myself. Its good that you manage to keep yourself calm during the SP, all the pain and feelings are just hallucinations
And yes, its a bad idea trying too hard with WILD Ive done it several times and always fail when I try too hard
Thank you! It wasn’t painful or anything, just scary. I’m really glad I’ve managed to get somewhere though. I’m going to try again tonight, hopefully I won’t be as freaked out this time.
I’ve had an experience like that the very first time I attempted to WILD. I just laid there and focused on my body, and within a few minutes, I felt a strange tingling sensation and my eyelids seemed to become darker. At that point I opened my eyes, and it looked like I had a Fish eye view. Everything seemed to be distorted in odd ways, and everything appeared to be jagged.
SP is nice stuff indeed. Yesterday I was trying to do a WILD for the first time. My arms became relaxed, and then - numb and heavy. That feeling spread through my whole body. Although it was a cool feeling to experience, I was a little scared so I opened my eyes. Gonna try this tonight in hope of succesfully managing to do a WILD.
