sleep reduction and REM

Today I was thinking about polyphasic sleep, in which you sleep for 20mins at 4hr periods, which is a way to induce REM sleep instantly. The 1.5hrs sleep you get is all REM sleep, which is the type of sleep your mind needs, the type that actually makes you tired, by using this technique you can reduce your sleep to 1.5hrs per 24hrs without any serious drawbacks.

I advise anybody who can do this technique to try it to induce LD’s, i believe it would make Lding sooo much easier.

But, unfortunatly, there is no way that I could use this technique (as I am still at shcool, and have a social life i’m not really willing to give up).

I think any sleep reduction tech would help induce LD’s as if you took a nap you would fall straight into REM sleep.

So my question is, does anyone know any other sleep reduction techniques? maybe bwgen, anyone tried anything like this? any success?

Bit of a wierd question I know, but basically, if anyone has successfully reduced the amount of sleep needed, tell me about it.
