sleeping environment

for those of you that remember me, i’m back. this past semester was my last one at school (i’m a college graduate now) and was a bit hectic. so hopefully, you’ll be seeing me more regularly now

anyway, i came home for christmas break and last night i recall having 3 dreams. for me to remember 3 dreams in one night is a little strange, but i notice that everytime i come back to my parent’s house there’s a spike in my dream recall and LDs. i started to wonder what’s so different about my bedroom in my parent’s house than the one in my apartment (or dorm room when i lived in the dorms)

i think it might be the hum of my two computers in my apartment bedroom, that’s one thing i noticed about sleeping in my parent’s house, that it is much quieter… any thoughts ???

Good to see you’re back, oneiromancer!

Congrats on finishing college!

Perhaps your parent’s home always remains your true home, and also your sub-c recognizes this. This feeling of safety and recognition perhaps causes a boost in dream recall. The silence in your parent’s home might be a visible sign of recognition, but it probably goes deeper than that (e.g. the subconscious connection you have with the house, and all those times you spent there during your childhood, etc…).

thx mystic, good to be back :content:

anyway, i didn’t really grow up in this house, we moved to charlotte when i was a sophomore in high school, and i always hated it, so the only memories i have about charlotte is how i didn’t wanna be there

but it’s interesting cause i’ve been here (charlotte) for a couple days and my dream recall is about the same as it was when i’m in raleigh. maybe it was just the sudden environment change and then it went back to normal shrug
