I was wondering what it means if you have reoccurring dreams about poisonous
snakes. About two, three nights in a row now, I’ve been having dreams about copperheads, black adders…you name the poisonous little rat, it’s in there. (Not that I have a fear of snakes or anything, in RL it seems almost like I have an affinity with them. You wouldn’t believe some of the crazy things I’ve done. I love those lil’ guys.)
In my dreams, they usually are burrowing out from under the dirt, or when I lift something up in a moist spot. (Kind of like worms, when I think of it.) I Iook under a porch, there are about fifteen copperheads writhing out of the dirt. I lifted up a rotten log, there’s a two-headed black adder coming up from the earth. (That was the one I had to kill, he was getting ready to strike. Poor little bugger.)
To see a snake or be bitten by one in your dream, signifies hidden fears and worries that are threatening you. Your dream may be alerting you to something in your waking life that you are not aware of or that has not yet surfaced. The snake may also be seen as phallic and thus symbolize dangerous and forbidden sexuality. The snake may also refer to a person around you who is callous, ruthless, and can’t be trusted. As a positive symbol, snakes represent transformation, knowledge and wisdom. It is indicative of self-renewal and positive changes.
That looks like it was copy-pasted straight from a dream interpretation website.
If it was a one or maybe two-time deal I’d just dismiss it as meaningless, but if you’ve dreamed about snakes three nights in a row, it might mean something after all. Is there something bad that might happen in RL that you may need to watch out for?
Or, maybe, after the first time, you were thinking about the snakes from last night right before you fell asleep and so you dreamed about them again. Reoccurring dreams can trigger reoccurring dreams in a cycle this way.
I like Black adder as-well, I’ve never seen him with two heads though, funny show that.
But you’re asking about the real snakes, you say you like them, perhaps you should be more cautious with them in the near future and not cuddle with them so much(assuming you’re not the Medusa, if you are it would be hard to stay away frome those snakes).
@Wannab LD: Hidden fears… I do hide a lot of my fears from others, I usually try to dismiss them as schizophrenia/paranoia, (runs rampant through my family), but they’re still there. Something that hasn’t surfaced yet…trying to think of something that might happen, but all I can think of is that my dad will come down with something else. (He’s been in and out of the hospital, has a thousand different things wrong with him, it seems.)
A really bad debit bill might come in, might have to give up my dog… bleh. Someone who can’t be trusted? Trying to think of someone, no one’s coming to mind. Hopefully it’s one of the positive symbols.
@Synneth Relmn: Yeah, like I said, my dad might come down with something else, dog might get sick or we might have to give him up to an animal shelter…me or my sister could come down with some really nasty illness, (that’s really all we need to topple this family over. Another doctor bill.) Friend lives by a busy street, he could get hit by a car…the possibilities are endless.
@Aks: How did you know I cuddled with a garter snake once?
I’m not sure. One time when I was five or six, I walked right up to a copperhead and poked it with a stick, it just hissed and slithered away. Now that I think about it, it seems really unnatural for it to do that. If I were a snake, and someone was poking me with a raspberry stick, I’d bite them. Ever since then, I really haven’t seen any snakes around at all. (Except for my friend’s red-tailed boa named Luke Skywalker, he died six months ago.)
