I’ve had 2 WILD successes in a row in the last 2 nights. Of course, I feel really accomplished, but I also have been able to observe commonalities between the two. I have trouble jumping straight into my visualizations after the vibrations hit. How it happened both times was that I climbed out of bed and did a reality check by pinching my nose, and was able to breath, then left the bed room and explored my dream world. Though that technique works for me, it seems to severely limit the possible locations in which a dream takes place. Now, something interesting about these two dreams is that I woke up in a different bed in each one; on the first night, I woke up in the apartment I used to live in, or something close to it, and on the second night, I awoke in a hotel room that I’d been staying in in an earlier dream that same night.
Now, that got me thinking: I’ve always had trouble changing locations in dreams. I’ve tried spinning, have attempted to fly, and a whole myriad of other means of travel, but have had very little success. So, perhaps a good way to reach the location you desire would be tell yourself the bed you are sleeping in is there. Then when you open your “eyes” and climb out of bed, you will be exactly where you want to be (the lucid crossroads for example) without having to make a long and treacherous journey which will probably end in you waking up before you reach your destination.
I have yet to test this, but I think it has potential to help those who WILD this way. What do you think?
