As a kid, i would walk in my sleep to the WC and wake up while sitting on it. Sometimes it felt like i knew i was doing this. Similarly, my nephew would, in his sleep, go to his parents room and take out money out of his father’s wallet! He would then take the money and before lying down next to his parents bed or walking back to his own bed toss the money about. His mother claimed he was fast aleep. The parents would awake because he had switched the light on. When asked what he had dreamt the night before, the boy said he dreamt he needed to go find money urgently. Apparently this went on for a few months and then stopped. He is in his 30’s now and his wife has said he occassionaly sleepwalks but apparently he doesn’t mind being woken up when he does. ( i have read one musn’t do this, is this so, and why?)
My question to forum ( perhaps it has been discussed before?) is: Is it possible to walk in one’s sleep and become lucid… or rather, can one make oneself lucid to know the self is sleep-walking?
As an aside, I have told myself to wake up when i begin to talk in my sleep, especially if i am sharing a room with someone i don’t know too well, it tends to work
Well if you try to get lucid while sleep-walking wouldn’t you just wake up because your walking around? I can’t see somebody getting lucid while sleep-walking.
it is possible. dreaming and sleep are only relatively associated due to the fact that most dreamers experience dreaming while asleep, or so is what reason leads them to believe.
Sleep walking takes place during deep sleep. Though there is some dream activity during deep sleep, it’s hard to remember, so it’s sort of unknown territory. The dreams we remember will be dreams in REM sleep. The body is paralysed in REM sleep so there will not be much sleepwalking going on.
I’ve read that it’s possible to be conscious during deep sleep. But it appears to be more difficult than in REM sleep. So, is it concievable? Maybe, but I’ve never heard of lucid sleep walking.
hehe…
anyway… i think its not possible to LD while sleepwalking …
as far as what one thinks may one’s spectrum of speculation unfold. opinion and information bear no core in the face of experience. why assume?
