…Or you can just fly, no spaceship required

last time i tried a dream link a friend of mine pulled me into his dream and in between i was flying through space past planets and then i crashed into one. I think the planets represent peoples dream worlds and the one i crashed into was my friends, it failed in the end but atleast we tried

has anyone tips how to gain altitude, preferrably something simple.
Its not a great deal to control flight in low heights but the heigher it seems the harder it gets to ascend.
Also there seem to be a lot of airholes in my dreams, where i suddenly plummet down even if i don´t want to
