I used to do that a lot! I’d get the feeling of white-ish/gray-ish/brown-ish clouds that formed patterns and kept overlapping eachother, and way down under them a darker pattern, like a city. I’d always try to get to that ‘city’ but pressing my eyeballs hurt…
Dots flashing in front of your eyes when you look away from bright light has more to do with either the adjustment of your pupil width (your iris muscles pull too fast, I think), or after-colours of what you were looking at (like looking at bright red, looking away, then seeing a green spot).
Either way… I always thought the dots were just the cells floating in front of your eyes? After all your eyeballs are covering with fluid or jelly-ish protective stuff or whatever. They’re different from hypnogogic imagery though… because those images don’t physically appear in front of your eyes? It’s difficult to explain, but I know the difference. I’ve come a bit further lately and start to notice when I’m falling asleep and having the imagery, and it’s like my brain is seeing them, not my eyes specifically. I don’t see the images yet I perceive them. It’s only when I awake from a dream or nightmare suddenly, I still see the images floating in my vision… and I can also manipulate those a few seconds right after I wake up, just by thought. So I don’t think the dots and the HI are connected
does a little eyeball text Oh, and apparently if I press them too long I start seeing veins. I figure that’s bloodveins or nerve endings… something. Weird.
Waw ! I just come across this post, and I find it very interesting !
It’s about phosphenes ( little coloured dots you see when closing your eyes ) and the way you can use them to WILD. In resume, it seems that concentrating on phosphenes or changing their colour can be useful for WILD.
I find it interesting cause I’ve already red something like that in a book.
Some one got more information ?
The “dots” are kind of like a speckled, textured background, right? I want to know if I am seeing the same thing as other “dot” seers. I’ll work on trying to change the color tonight, too (along with meditating first, then a little bit of MILD) - see what comes of it.
I know exactly what you guys are talking about. I see these dots/static even when all the lights are on. But don’t really notice them like that unless I think about it. When it’s dark I see the dot things do all kinds of shit, like make shapes and such. And theirs always tons of them. Sometimes so thick it makes it hard to see things properly. I’ve seen all my life. I’ll have to try useing them to help me become lucid.
I get the same thing the little dots and the swooping colours, I used to put pressure on my eyes gto get them a lot when I was a younger kid, I liked the way that it looked. Everyone that I know did the same thing or knew exactly what I was talking about.
I did a brief search on phosphenes and found this:
Phosphenes are signals from the neurons of the retina to the visual cortex of the brain which are interpreted as lights and visual patterns but not caused by visual light. They can beproduced by a variety of things, including pressure to the eyeball and, less commonly, various diseases of the retina and nerves.
Most of times it’s speckled and rather fuzzy, and there can be brighter and less fuzzy coloured points somewhere.
Sometimes it’s textured, and it can even be a complex and repetitive texture like an Indian carpet. It’s rare.
Sometimes, it has a repetitive move, by instance a circular move.
In my opinion, only the first case are true phosphenes. Other cases seems to be more elaborated visions, and must be related with sophiscicated work of the brain.
Oh! Oh! I know EXACTLY what you meant from that. EXACTLY. I get that too when I look at the sky, usually through a window like a car window, but not always.
The other things are when you scrunch your eyes shut in a dark room and you see random evolving patterns… well thats what happens to me…
Dude, that’s so fucking great, thanks for that method, I see these dots all the time, they even go on my nerves, it seems perfect for me! Wow, this is awesome, I’m gonna try it. Genious.
Yes indeed, these things are not phosphenes. Darker lines are cells debris within the eye vitreous. They are called floaters, muscae volitantes or myodesopsia. I don’t know what are little shiny moving dots which you can see when you look at the sky but they are probably living cells within the eye.
I can see a purple area that has a shape of a triangle that is going smaller and around this area i can see bigger green coloured triangle that later is smaller and smaller, then comes purple and it happens all again
