Well, what’s your strangest recurring dream character or symbol? I have two. Praying mantises appear in about 7/10 of my recent dreams. The other is… Don Knotts.
A cat. Actually even one I see almost every day in real-life, but everytime I dream and see that cat I realize I’m dreaming.
I have a recurring DS that has made me lucid many times.
I am pulling a sticky gumlike substance out of my mouth 
Its actually kind of gross, and I wanted it to stop. But then I realized that its a great dreamsign because its annoying and it makes me pay attention so I become lucid almost every time it happens. 
That one just struck me as funny, I don’t even know why.
I do have a frequently occuring dream character, but in order to find out who, you’ll just need to take a close look at my DJ. I’m not handing out all the information here. 
Those who know me well already know who it is, no doubt.

The most commonly recurring symbol for me is probably magic. I dream a lot about various mythological things. I also dream about royalty a lot. It must have been the fifty million fairytales I read when I was little that did it. 
I remember reading about this before - I don’t know if it was you or somebody else that said it, but after I read about that, I had a dream where my mouth was full of “good” (white stuff like cotton wool), and I could only get rid of it by vaporising it with “evil” (black misty stuff). In the same dream I had to journey down to Hell and back (there’s the mythology going again!).
Okay, I now definitely don’t feel my DS is too bad, (just gross, but not Hellish)
