when i’m having a ND, i am often reflecting upon dreams and talking to friends about dreams.
for example, last night i had i was in front of a mirror and my reflection wasn’t doing what i was (raising my arms) i immediately figured something was up, and even suggested to myself i was dreaming. i’m not certain but i may have performed an unsuccessfull hand RC. i eventually came to the conclusion that was stoned, despite not being able to remember smoking anything. 
in another dream i had the same night, i was coming home from work and my whole family was in the garage playing ping pong. i thought it was so odd that they were all there and that we had a ping pong table at all. I stood back and assessed the situation and thought it was very odd and that i should RC when things like this happen, because things like that only happen in dreams.
anyway, does anyone else have experiences like this and how do you cash in on them?

Maybe you think about dreaming so much that your subconscious is helping you get lucid? Maybe not, though, odd things like the happen in dreams all the time.
yeah, that would make sense.
it’s just really frustrating
this never works for me, i can see the wierdest things in my dreams and i will never think anything isout of the ordinary. mayby because i daydream about the impossible so much that it doesnt strick me as strange. 
yeah, i cant seem to realize when i’m in a dream no matter what happends and the one time i did realize im in a dream i was walking on the beach and nothing wierd was going on
even though in the same dream before the beach countless wierd things happened
it pisses me off
Maybe you are assessing the situation too much? Instead of figuring out if you should do a RC, just do one. I realize what you experienced was in a dream, but that still doesn’t change the fact that what you did was habit. So, while you’re awake, you need to RC without any assessment at all if anything comes off as abnormal. Abnormal could even be things like jamming your toe or running a red light. Anything you do that is not routine or expected should strike you with a big “do a reality check!”.
You’re more than half way there, all you have to do is figure out how to pull the trigger.
Well your pattern is when things don’t make sense you rationalize reasons for them to make sense. To overcome this, in real life when things don’t make sense you need to do several reality checks, and then in your dreams when you do these reality checks you will realize you are dreaming.
