Successful WBTB?

I kindof woke up late at night last night, i dont particuarly know how late, but we are talking 3-5am. I think i woke up after a dream.

But anyways, i went back to sleep (not intending to do WILD or anything) it was like i drifted off to sleep, but then i became concious(sp?) again and i realised that i was in the very very late stages of WILD. I mean i never inteneded to do any WILD when io woke up, but anyway… I knew i was in the late stages because i literally could feel my WHOLE body vibrating, over and over and over again, my eyes were going crazy. And then it was like i was awake in my bed. I pinched my nose and i could breathe through it… i was SO excited! this was my seccond LD ever and i was so excited.

Is this a successful WBTB then?

The freaky thing is that i had 2 LD’s that night, both from WBTB i think… the seccond one being actually about 10 minutes long. But i could hardly do anything… i mean all i did was walk around my house and go outside, but lots of the houses on my street were missing :o and there were breakdancers on the corner of the street (quite strange).

There was an attractive breakdancer woman, so i went to her and kindof touched her bottom… hey its my dream heh!

But anyway it was so cool, and i only seem to get LDs when i stop trying so hard to get them… its the only time i get them. So guys who try really really hard, if you just go to sleep normaly and relax propperly you may be lucky like me.

sorry for the rant heh, anyone feel free to comment (please comment)

Thanks in advance

I have no idea about WILDs, but you certainly had a successful WBTB of some sort: You woke up, went back to bed (sleep) and more or less instanly(?) became Lucid

Congrats.

I love to drift right into an LD. WBTB can be wonderfull sometimes.

Hey British_Dreamer, congrats on your LD’s!

It’s not really WBTB you did since I think you didnt get up (hence not back to bed, just back to sleep), but thats a minor terminological issue. The point is that you had a succesful WILD and a few LD’s from that, which is great. You say you could do hardly anything, but seeing that you havent had many LD’s yet (correct me if im wrong), I think you did quite well, walking around the house and outside and all, keeping the dream stable and running for several minutes.

It’s true that sometimes when you stop the effort in getting lucids, all of a sudden you get one. This doesnt mean however that stopping the effort will lead to many lucids in the time ahead, it just is a way of letting go when you try to hard. You have to find a kind of balance in that, trying but not forcing it. This will be more and more easy once you get the hang of LDing! Good luck with it …

I was quite supprised that i kept my dream as stable as i did. I found many people on the forums have trouble keeping their LDs going for long periods of time.

I did feel myself drifting out of the LD from time to time tho. These were mainly when i got excited tho, you know with the whole prospect of actually having a lucid dream.

However when i actually tried to increase lucidity… i felt myself drift out of lucidness… so it kindof had the opposite effect?

Any comments on that?

Depends really on what you did to increase lucidity. Any techniques you used?

I closed my eyes and rubbed my hands together, i also tried shouting increase lucidity.

Ok, DONT close your eyes! When you do that, you often loose the LD and wake up. Rubbing hands is good, try also to combine this with focussing on objects in your LD. Shouting increase lucitidy may work too, though I never use this (since the previous techs do the trick fine for me).
